@Julio Geordio will be along in a minute to give out to you for picking Breen.

Lads, what’s the thoughts on DOG at 11? Does he bring more than Ryan, Hickey, Breen, Hannon, Downes, Allis?

Yes, yes, yes,no,no, yes.

Agreed. I would say he would also bring more to position than Downes.

Has Dodge any real experience at CF at club or underage? Would lads not think Dodge might make a better half forward, much more similar to MF than centre forward which involves a completely different style of play.

Below would be my preferred 15 for Thurles, would prefer Hickey @ CB going forward, but since he’s had no game time there I don’t want to change it too much.

The only really surprising thing is that I’d have Mulcahy at midfield, IMO the best games he’s had for Limerick have been as a 3rd midfielder, it would be a fairly small midfield but I don’t think that matters hugely in hurling. They’d cover a lot of ground between the two.

Not overly commited to Tobin in the corner, I definitely do not think both he and Mulcahy should be in the same line.

I’m not sure if full forward is the best use of Downes, especially if we are playing a two man full forward line and Tipp have an extra back he could well be bottled up. We don’t have much recent history of showing we can work intelligent ball to our full forward with his body position facing goal. We’re probably going to end up lumping high balls on top of him, and while he’s good in the air and will win a few, he’ll have Maher marking him which doesn’t make that a smart strategy. I’d prefer him at centre or corner where running at goal is more natural. Maybe I’m wrong and we manage to make space for him at full or he’s going to roam out a bit.

Also, Tom Ryan and Hickey have to start at wing back and midfield, which plays where probably doesn’t matter. Physicality, speed, good in the air, able to throw themselves about, strong running with the ball -going to be needed. I’d go with Hickey midfield.

Tipp are weakest in the centre of the field and will break there.

Their forwards aren’t great either. If Limerick are fit and bring their ferocity we will be there or there abouts- We have the forwards to get scores.

Their backs apart from Cahill are overrated. Limerick will walk this.

What about their windy forwards?

Met a young chap involved with Tipp earlier- I asked him how they were set and he said they have never been more focused, there will be no underestimating Limerick and that they are expecting war… The usual I suppose, but it was the way he said it… They are not looking beyond Limerick… The cunt put the shites through me and got me thinking that Tipp might actually have a chance here.

Wonderful news. They might have outhurled us over the years but we’ve never lost a war to them.

If it’s war they expect then war they shall receive. That young chap’s statement has just given us causus bellei.

Get ready ye sandwich-scoffing fooks. The Green Monster is coming for your meat!

Sounds like he’s fucking shitting it. Limerick by 6.

Limerick are in for a 10 point plus defeat from Tipp I think.
