Am sure this is a topic of much debate in the homes around the country. One of the toilet seats in work here was replaced - it had been a plastic seat but now its been replaced by a big wooden one. It took some getting used to but I’ve managed. It got me thinking though - what is your favourite type of toilet seat. I’ve added some options to make it easier.
has to be wooden…but to be honest i normally wouldnt bother with a seat in a public/communal toilet as there are a lot of sick fuckers out there…prefer to hover

I was shocked though Pikeman that O’Neills on Suffolk street removed one of the toilet seats in one of the cubicles. I might have to re-do my toilet review of that place.
This is the sort of thing that sets the forum apart.
Ceramic tends to have a better look than plastic or wooden. Wood tends to get a bit fucked after a while due to exposure to stray streams. Plastic just looks cheap. Using these criteria I say ceramic.
I like a clean wooden best. I don’t like seats with cracks in them as it looks very cheap and tattered. The seats in work are plastic as it’s obviously the cheapest option but as Flano said, there’s a danger a wooden seat can start to smell of piss after a while.
On the rare enough occasion that I get to use one, ceramic by far the best.

There’s something lovely and cosy about a nice wooden seat.
I’d have wooden ahead of plastic anyway - have a wooden one at home and much prefer it for sitting on. Big issue though is that it’s slightly too thick so it doesn’t stay upright and hence you have to sit down the whole time. Got used to that soon enough though.
Not sure I’ve had the pleasure of a ceramic seat - can’t picture one anyway.

As outlined in the other thread. I have gone for ceramic. Defintiely has the best “feel” to it.
Wooden for me. Nothing worse than the shock of sitting on a ceramic toilet seat on a cold, frosty night.
I have a butler who warms mine up for me.

the wooden seat i find tends to retain the warmth of the last persons legs for a longer period of time,
personally, i hate a warm seat.
with the wood i would imagine overtime it soaks up the stray urine and faceas that miss the pond below and after a period of time i assume that the wooden seat would have to be discarded.
the cheap white plastic seat seems to stain easily.
one disgusting incident must be raised regarding this seat was when we were in college in first year a gang of 4 apes, ( 2 mayo, 1 clare and 1 sligo) lived in what can only be described as inhumane conditions,created by themselves naturally as this is how people are raised in these counties. These animals entered the gaff in september and come march, which was when i visited 6 months worth of dirty dishes, half eaten microwave dinners and rotting bread lay festering about the house.
a visit to the pisser ( where there were rotten poatoes going to seed in the shower), contained a toilet with a horribly stained dark yellow white plastic seat, this was a sight to behold.
also, as an aside in the house there was a poster of a massey ferguson tractor on the wall, a hurley and the guy from mayo was riding a hideous type ( also from mayo), whose bulmers gut was pouring out over her jeans as she stumbled around the front room drunk before going to mate with the other beast.
since then ive never been a fan of the white plastic seat
