If you haven’t kicked addiction by 40 at the very latest you aren’t kicking it ever, it’s a slow road to the end at best.

Sublime

I saw the Libertines in Chicago in 2005… around September i think…Pete had been given the boot earlier that summer so it wasn’t the same… Up the Bracket was an album i loved. Pete was painful with his carryon for a number of years as the needy fan in me wanted him to get back to entertaining me with the band… he’s very lucky to be alive… but lovely to hear him speak tonight.

How’s your cunty, Bunty?

I was at Tommy’s show the other night in Vicar St. The standard manic Tommy but he had a wonderful segment where Bob Dylan (with his waspy nasally voice) left the stage to greet Shane MacGowan (with his permanently pissed voice) …. Bob eulogising Shane who was responding with vigorous insults….

Aw man…

Filth is a cracking book.

Haven’t read it in 15 year I’d say.

This had a permanent spot on my limited capacity MP3 player in the mid/late 00s

He was hot for about 5 or 6 books in a row

Filth is one of the best I ever read

You had to learn a foreign language to read him. The movies actually glamorise the characters a little…or a lot, maybe

“These crooked fingers”

Pete was giving off real Ian Bailey vibes last night.

He had an RTE podcast interview a few months back, maybe even with Claire Byrne. It’s some story.
