Tonight's TV

Its shite.

They must fill the audience up with drink before hand though because they seem to think its hilarious - so go for the free beer.

Bring a hurley.

Batter the cunt.

God speed.

Steaming pile of shite

I implore everybody to watch Rasai na Gaillimhe on TG4 at 9.30pm this evening. Thank you.

Was just remarking the same thing. He had a fair bit of common sense stuff to say tonight.

Still a cunt though

oh that was never in doubt

Sky plussed it but I’ve heard good reports so far.

Anyone get a load of that Director of the Abbey Theatre that was on Browne’s show last night fighting for the retention of the artist’s tax exemption?

Income from such artistic events is exempt from tax up to 250k. Browne put it too him that this was a disgrace given all the cut backs that have taken place.

Yer man said people need motivation to take up arts such as writing and that it should remain. He also said that most artists are below the poverty line.

Browne said that in that case they don’t pay any tax.

Yer man agreed.

Browne asked him what his point was then?

Yer man said that we are an island of Saints and Scholars and that we should promote artistic endeavours by giving generous tax breaks, which was his original, outlandish point.

Idiot.

“Rich artists DO pay tax” was another one of his one-liners. He then went on to say that if they earned over 250k pa they pay tax. As if to further dig his own hole, he then went on and threw a comment in to the effect of “very few of them actually earn 250k” - as if this strengthened his argument. A bit of an idiot alright. Vincent joked that we should have an inquiry into the grounds on which we went on an Abbey junket to the US as well.

Darren Sutherlands family are on the Late Late in a while

That cunt Oliver Callan is on as well.

they are on now runty…

Big news there from Ryan. Apparently there’s a lot more to come from the Sutherland story but they can’t mention it due to legal issues.

Strange TV. Did they use the word “suicide” at all.

Christ that was a bizarre interview.

Think it was far too soon to have the family on to be honest. They have their issues with the media obviously and they certainly have issues with Frank Moloney. Seems like they have other big issues with the death that they’re not going into.

But that interview didn’t help the cause of suicide prevention in this country at all. You can’t blame his father for being emotional but to hear talk of “selfish” and “cowardly” was very strange.
