Tonight's TV

You can see that what your man is saying is going in one ear and out the other.

Cracking looking bird but she’s a cunt.
weird stuff…very strange…are they in total denial or do you think there is more to this?..
maybe the clue was when tubbers said there was an elephant in the room that they couldnt talk about:rolleyes:

the newspapers were hinting at what happened at the weekend but i think its in poor taste for them to report it

That’s NAMA.

Colm McCarty on The Frontline at the moment.

I feel sorry for this bloke. He was given a job to advise on cuts across the Public Sector in a relatively tight terms of reference and he did what he was asked. He is being wheeled out on defend it - typical fall guy for the Government.

Not watching this at the moment, but he’s hardly a victim. Brian Lenihan “wheeled” himself out last week to argue the toss so it’s a bit much to present McCarthy as some kind of puppet.

But it’s not his report to implement - he is not a member of the Government. You don’t see members of the Government coming out to defend it - they get him to do it.

he is a lacky for a discredited government

he is pretty poor at getting his point across

discredited economist cant handle a public forum:D

But he seemed adamant when he presented his report that he these cuts simply had to be implemented. He didn’t give the impression that these were his best suggestions given the terms of reference. He appeared to be a badge wearer for full scale cuts irrespective of whether he was commissioned to deliver the report or not so it’s no like he’s defending something that he feels he can’t stand over.

He has clearly said that he couldn’t look at wages and that he could have made recommendations in that regard, instead of chopping jobs all over the shop.

Eddie Hobbs.

eddie hobbs who has been the most prominent economist on tv over the last 10 years but never warned of the property bubble & in fact was involved with property companies spouting lies about public sector wages

As many people have said, why are these cunts still being given the platform to lecture to us after what has happened?

Public sector workers coming across as deeply obnoxious here.

The last thing this country needs is a strike but we will do it if they cut our wages.

Talk about holding the State over a barrell.

No one can get sacked in the public sector. That is fact.

Hobbs isn’t an economist, but it has never stopped him spouting off about economic matters. Then again, so many economists employed by the vested interests in the property market (banks, estate agents, etc.) massaged their figures or told downright lies to the public, that Hobbs’ ill-informed pronouncements are as good as their untruths.

He lost all credibility as a supposedly independent expert when he started pushing the Cape Verde islands as a place to buy property. Of course, he forgot to mention that he had a vested interest in the place.

More than one reason to reach for the mute button when you hear that whiny Caaarrk accent…

There’s more than a few special needs teachers who might disagree with you.
