Tonight's TV

The recently dead Christopher Hitchens analysing the Princess Di hysteria on TV3 at the moment.

While there’s a decent underlying point, the sight of two smug liberals doing a literal deconstruction of the lyrics of Candle in the Wind isn’t a great way to get it across.

Was Hitchens still a liberal at this point? Smugness was certainly his forte alright.

Tougher to put a label on him than it is with most people I’d suppose. On issues like this and obviously religion I would have always considered him a “liberal”. His foreign policy viewpoint was certainly neocon in the end alright.

Back to school. All that’s wrong with politics and by extension mankind.

The girl who became 3 boys on channel4.

Girl, described as the master of disguise, dressed up as 3 different boys and seduced two of her girlfriends.

New Dallas on tv3

Did anyone watch Dallas there now on tv3…looks like monday nights are sorted for the next few months anyway…it was very enjoyable tripe…

yes indeed alf yes indeed

I can’t be arsed finding another thread for this.

RTE just reported on the death of a boy in cork where his mother rang the Gardai in a distressed state. Obviously some kind of tragic circumstances. However Pascal sheehy chose to inform us that the child lived with his mother in a ‘well kept’ bungalow.

Now maybe I’m missing something, but why the need to inform us of the state their house is kept in?

The news report was very interesting. They kept going on about child services and that child services were aware of the family and that they will be conducting an investigation and will be releasing their own statement at some point. They couldn’t stop stressing on the news that the Gardai were satisfied the boy did not die of “natural causes”. I believe they said the mother is a ‘Ward’. Didn’t hear them on about the well kept bungalow but i did make a mental note to myself that the home looked very tasty. I believe they said she was a lone mother and had one child, could be mistaken there now mind.

was suprisingly good wasnt it…jr looks shook…great scene where he came back to life though…

one of the greatest scenes ever, he was less shook as the episode went on

‘‘Bobby was always a fool’’

i was expecting him to turn up at the wedding and cause havoc…ya just knew he has a big scene coming up to steal the show…the apple didnt fall far from the tree anyway…i cant recall how the original series ended but didnt sue ellen or someone mention cliff barnes has control of ewing oil? is he due to make an appearance?

He was in it very briefly last night at the wedding.

Fuck it this deserves a thread of it’s own…
