Yeah, I was referring more to the strange media witch hunt that surrounded Donegal after that game. The Dubs got a lot more praise for their performance against Cork in 2010.

Not to mention the assault on Nicholas murphy! Yeah nothing but the same old story from them cunts on RTE
Let it go lads

Well I was referring to a game that Cork won, so not really sure what you want me to let go of.

Sorry, had meant to quote scumpot to get the 50/50 response from Cork/Dublin

And good enough for Celtic.

Are you seriously trying to compare Dublin’s performance in the 2010 semi-final to Hunegal’s in the 2011 semi-final?

Both failed when it really mattered so its a fair comparison

Dublin scored 1-14 in that match.

A year later Hunegal scored 0-6.

Would you draw an equal comparison between the Ireland team of 1990 and the Brazil team of 1982 or the Holland team of 1974?

No

Why not? The Ireland team of 1990 and the Brazil team of 1982 both failed to reach the semi-finals after losing to Italy.

Surely, following the logic of your earlier post through, they both failed at the same stage when it mattered and should be compared equally?

Mac getting handed his ass here…

Just watching the Donegal programme on +1 there. As Joe Brolly says, the reason Hunegal got criticised for playing shite football after the Dublin game is because it was shite.

they evolved this year to win…they realised that if they were going to play that way they needed to be supremely fit and also be able to carry the ball out of defence as they had limited targets up front…that was the notable difference this year - the numbers that poured forward when in possession and the amount of defenders that were so comfortable soloing the ball 40 yards…

They’ll need to evolve again this year, especially in the way they train. If the methods used are as repetitive as we’re led to believe, repeating that again s a recipe for a mentally jaded team come the summer as has been seen with most defending All-Ireland champions since the start of the 90s.

big time…hunger is the greatest sauce…Mcguinness will have to work a miracle to get them back to all-Ireland final i think…it would be some achievement… think it will be the Dubs or kerry this year…dublin because they have freshened it up and have a seriously talented squad…kerry because i think they might have one last sting in them and will be seriously motivated…as bad as they were last year they had donegal on the ropes by end of match…kerry still need to find 2 or 3 players though…

Why has everyone written off Donegal winning Sam again next year? Kerry & Dublin with new managers against McGuinness & his team. He will find it hard to change a winning team too much and i would find it hard to bet against them.

I’d say that discrepancy is better explained by Cork’s naivety and Bernard Brogan’s individual genius than any major difference in tactical outlook between Dublin ('10) and Donegal.

Brazil and Ireland both had to qualify for the tournament in a professional sport. Donegal & Dublin automatically qualified for their tournament in an amateur sport. Therefore you can’t compare the 2.

What was on?
