I’d never eat steak in a restaurant. Roaster carry on
very rarely.
Medium rarely myself.
Just a brief note going forward:
It’s always Willie Joe. No other form of address or reference is acceptable.
Not Willie, not WJ, not any other derivitave.
Willie Joe it is. Tidy informative post that aside. I’ve rewarded you with a like.
great steak related pun, well done
Did Willie Joe once play a senior championship match for Mayo in the afternoon and then a match for the club in the evening?
Nothing about Willie Joe would surprise me but I’d find it unlikely that there would be club games fixed for the evening of a Connacht championship match.
@Liqourice_Pipes shouLd be the font of knowledge on this one.
Oh I did ya
Are you priming a bit of rib?
I have eaten in one of these restaurants. The one in Vienna but they represent a type of restaurant that I am beginning to detest. Fetishized Michelin style dining consisting of extragantly expensive tasting menus made up of tiny things on odd plates, things that the chef often forages for free. They are populated then by a traveling band of Michelin tourists with giant carbon footprints traveling the world to eat sustainably sourced local food.
Where did Finnegan’s place on the list?
Had another smashing feed at the Cedar Tree prior to seeing Stereolab last night

Very grumpy these days mate, it’s hardly the fault of the restaurant that people travel
I saw Lucinda fillet some posh Chinese place in Blackrock at the weekend
The Cedar tree is class. Their shawarma is amazing
I’d say they actively encourage the travel and I’d say few enough would survive on local trade. That place el bulli was up on a mountaintop somewhere in Spain and your man Heston Blumenthals place was out in rural Berkshire. The number 1 restaurant there is in a small town on the French Italian border and the number 3 is literally in the middle of nowhere.
The mixed kafta is a delicious meal of meat with a side of meat
It’s no good to me. The nice meals there are for a minimum of 2 people.
You’re some rarefied class of snob when you’re looking down your nose at the world’s best restaurants and their clientele
Five Fagan has a very selective palate
Pork burgers over an Asian hairdressers on the edge of temple bar is where it’s at.
