Top 10 Irish Restaurants (that spidey visited in a week )

Its well worth a visit. Food is good and its real step back in time. The decor could be described as retro but its more down to the fact that the owner hasn’t bothered redecorating since 1975.

Never heard of the place. 13 bucks for a 12oz is outrageously good. Does the wine/drinks pad the bill or what?

not really. went and had two mains 3 side and a 1.5l of wine. came to 96 bob…

Basic enough website, not even a menu. So 36 bob on food and 60 bob on 2 bottles of wine or thereabouts, sport?

ah hear…

click the 3 lines at the bottom that brings you in to contact details.

it’s where it says “Menu”

:smile:oops :flushed:. Thanks, sport. Steaks appear to be 9oz rather than 12oz though?

They do Beef dripping chips. @ChocolateMice ahead of the curve yet again.

apologies… still a good feed… the steak was unbelievable…

Was there for lunch and it is nice but very small. Not sure these not well known cheaper cuts of steak will work for roasters who like well done steak. For that the place is to be applauded.

Giving you the shit cuts of steak for the same price as a decent bit, and you lapping it up because you think it makes you sophisticated.

They are not the same price. They are charging 13 euro for a steak. It serves a different market segment - good lunch option.

Roasters like Julio and @Bandage trying to appear cultured will act all sniffy when it won’t serve them a medium well fillet steak and then they’ll complain that the chips aren’t home cooked.

And rightly so. What kind of a mug eats frozen chips FFS

I’d only complain about the chips in fairness, mate. I haven’t been to Featherblade yet. What way is this argument going? I heard its USP was doing cheap cuts of steak very well*. Is that it, lads? Is that it? They have dearer cuts?

*and cooked in other ways too.

I’ve given that a nice post award

Ah lovely.

It’s like the sort of a cunt of a place that Jamie Heaslip would have shares in.

Gilbauds is much better value and nicer for a long lunch. I don’t much like the Merrion hotel. I prefer the conrad which is more anonymous.
Gilbauds for dinner is pretty much the same as the lunch menu but three or four times the price. Have a long lunch. Back for a sleep then out for pints.

Ps bit further afield but Clifden may tick most of your boxes. Bar having to get across the fucking bridge in Galway.

Alternatively Kirwans lane in Galway is pretty decent value for a meal. Not a destination venue though.
