Still sounds like them.
Dublin's Dobbins restaurant has been put into examinership
The group behind the restaurant and the Becketts Hotel in Leixlip has been struggling under Celtic Tiger-era debts.
Still sounds like them.
The internet never forgets
Now I hardly forgot myself. I only posted that two weeks ago.
Who took the photo of you
The waitress, silly.
@Fagan_ODowd seems to be going through a bad patch on the Internet over the last few days. Caught out as a bad driver there and now he just called himself a roaster
Had the 7 course dinner in Dax last night.
Tuna
Scallops
Foie Gras
Beetroot Risotto
Lamb
Chocolate Fondant
Cheese.
Savage altogether.
We had a Top 10 Dublin pubs discussion on here before:
http://thefreekick.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=1419Now that I’m married and middle-aged (how much things change in a year) I suppose half my goings-out either start or take place completely in a restaurant somewhere. So where’s good to go.
I like the following city-centre eateries:
- L’Ecrivain: been there once, very expensive but the food is fucking top class. Rabbit was awesome
- Winding Stairs: actually a bit disappointed with it but want to like it so I’m keeping it on my favoured list until I go again and decide whether it’s good or not
- Dobbins: haven’t been there since it was done up but a fine place altogether
- Diep le Shaker: not generally a big “foreign food” eater but this place is smashing
Places I’ve never been but want to go to:
- Chapter One
- Shanahan’s on the Green
- Gruel
Places I don’t like:
- Brasserie 66: meh
- Fallon & Byrne
- Dunne and Crescenze or however it’s spelled.

Dobbins in trouble. Used to be the go too place for the business elite at one stage. In a bit of a shit location, can’t get much passing trade.
Was in Becketts not so long ago - still charging whopper prices for standard enough fare. Hotel looked in bits though.

Countdown to the “I have gout” thread
Shit location surprised it’s lasted as long as it has. Always good food any time I was there but bit old fashioned
Loam or Aniar lads? I’ll be in Galway next week and hoping to shovel some Michelin star grub down my neck if we can get a booking.
Dublin is a cunt of a place for land grabbing.
Some day you’ll type something that makes sense to me, until then we’ll just continue on in this manner. Do you start on the skunk before breakfast??
I don’t smoke weed.
Enjoy the match today & your trip to Galway.
Dined in both at expense of my employer. Top grub in both to be fair. Either should suffice.
Is one less stuffy than the other, both look fine to be honest and the menus haven’t helped me decide, I prefer a more casual atmosphere if that makes sense.
Loam so, more casual in my opinion.
