Top 3 hurlers of all time

You Limerick lads are somewhat remiss by omitting Pat Hartigan from your nominations.
Hartigan was a super 3, unbeatable in aerial duels and no slouch at protecting his patch.

As good a full back as I’ve seen.

Considering some of the players listed here, I think Seamus Callinan deserves a mention. Probably didn’t do it for as long a period over his career, but for a spell of three or four years I would say he was the most dangerous inside forward that I think I’ve seen

Just before my time.

No mention of mick mackey anywhere.

Three great years alright, I’d have Lar ahead of him all the same

Joe spent most his career with a fat hole. Dj didn’t. Thems the facts.

He’d probably sneak in ahead of Kirby at 12 maybe in the All Time Best Limerick 15, but alas I never saw the chap play

Not true. Sylvie is revered in Killimor. Don’t mind them soft townie pricks in Loughrea.

For what? Knocked off liqour.

Tellingly, perhaps, this tfk thread is the most instructive and the most enjoyable one – in my fairly short experience, admittedly – I can recall.

Did you see Mick Dervan playing in the HF line, was he not a corner back?

As you might expect I didnt see him play but I heard stories of the 23 team and his name was always at the forefront of the conversation. I had always assumed for some reason he was a forward but stand to be corrected.

He was a corner back, he’s on the Galway team of the millennium.

Pat Fox is Tipperary’s best forward of the last 40 years

A genuinely clutch player who delivered when needed

Sorry for the tautology

who are your top 3 dub hurlers Sidney?

Fagan can surely help here too

Replaced with PJ

Lar Foley and the Boothmans

fair enough but go more recent times! from what I saw

  1. Conal Keaney
  2. Liam Walsh
  3. Dotsy

I know a few players that played under Lar when he managed at county and club level
Old school but speak fondly of him
