Top 3 hurlers of all time

A decent young player.

2017 wasn’t his peak either. He was never cleaned by Richie McCarthy in those years. He got 2-5 from play in the 2 games he marked JJ in those years. Daithi stopped him once, basically the only game in those 3 years where he was stopped

Costing his team All Ireland Finals by scoring way more than the rest of his teammates

Just because I know more about pretty much everything than you doesn’t mean you should be so bitter. You are clearly a middle aged man who’s deeply unhappy with his life. You should learn from me.

Its fascinating to watch though.

He missed simple chances in 09, 14 and 15. Vanished in 2017 too when was needed. Callanan is a complete myth.

Take that baldy tubby auld cunt. These young lads know it all eh?

An auld teacher of mine used to say, I wish I knew now, what I thought I knew when I was your age.

Never a truer word was spoken.

We’re talking about his peak, 2014 to 2016. In 2014 he got hooked by one of the best defenders ever while taking him for 2-5 over the 2 games. In 2015 he missed a penalty, which isn’t a simple chance anyway, after getting dropped on his head after scoring 3-4 in a game where his team was completely outplayed

He got hooked by a 33 year old who was moving from half to fullback would you ever cop on ffs. He missed a simple chance to win the game in 2015. Henry the king was presented with a similar chance in 09 and stuck it. True Greats stand up and are counted when their team needs him. He shits it and disappears.

Following on from this discussion and having to defend the Tipp prick for so long, he’s going to have to join my top 3 greatest hurlers of all time. My top 4 greatest hurlers of all time :
Christy Ring
Mick Mackey
Declan Hannon
Seamus Callanan

JJ played at full back for years

How is it an easy chance? What percentage of penalties result in goals these days?

Henry scored his goal while under the previous rules where he could go past the 21 yard line. Henry was also terrible in that game and got roasted by a 20 year Paudie Maher

Yet at the vital moment Henry stuck the chance when he was presented with it. That’s what the greats do. Callanan is regularly presented with chances and totally bottles it.

@Gman unlikely to recover anytime soon from that haymaker.

By God…

You don’t know what bottling something means

@gman still hasn’t recovered from his Galway related meltdown last June. He’s still bitter over it.

That cut me deep, so it did. How could I recover from it really?

Declan Hannon against Clare set the benchmark for greatest bottling/meltdown in Gaa history.

JJ won an an All Star at Full Back in 2012. He was a long time moving if he was still moving there in 2014. And he was 32 at the time. So there’s twice more you’ve been wrong.

He was a makeshift fullback at the end of his career.

Who won an All Star twice in the position
