Believe we had a thread recently about how mad a year it was.
Anyway, it’s on Reeling in the Years now. Simpler times…

Bit of tit there.
Great Gerry Conlon clip there.
This last clip is superb - fall of the Berlin Wall to U2’s All I Want is You.
That solidarity movement clip was brilliant.
and the first fair city episode shown too, thought that would have been the most pivitol thing to commemorate on here for 1989!

Great shot of Thatcher’s mate Ceausescu as well. She’ll get hers soon enough too the aul cunt.
Was thinking about him the rest of the 4 and the 6 last night
The missus said that the OReilly fellow had a face that you knew was guilty, I disagreed with here and was thinking of these lads.
Being Irish was enough to get a guilty verdict
There’s a film called who bombed Birminghan with John Hurt that I want to see again, also remember the seminal world in action documentary that rubbished all the forensic tests?
Not to mention the Maguire 7 - how fooked up was all that.

Not a patch on the stuff that’s been done as part of the war on terror however. And the Irish response is to allow the americans to ship people through our airports for torture.
Not to mention the Derry 4 :o
Seriously though, it was some year alright. Doesn’t feel like 20 years have passed when you think about some of the stuff in your head, but when you see the pictures like that it really does show just how different things were back then.
This isn’t the original World in Action documentary but it’s very good.
HELL will never be full till shes in there ,cunt, motherfukin bitch bastard fucker
Unbelieveable, i recently read Patrick Maguires book and went to see him in UCC a while back. It brings back alot of those feelings of dislike of the Brits, and in particular the cops, complete morons.
Watching Hunger a couple of weeks later doesn’t help either.
the sofetest AI hurling title of modern times
Only because of what was done to Tony Keady.

Channel 4 are running a series of films based on the 1970s England on Thurs nights
Last Thurs was Red Riding- the cops in Yorkshire come out very badly of it
i would have thought 94 was
The easiest All-Ireland ever won has to be Kilkenny in 2007. A 14 point win over a shite Offaly, two facile wins over Wexford split by their only tough game of the year V Galway, and finally an All-Ireland final that was effectively over after ten minutes. Not only the easiest All-Ireland, but quite possibly the worst championship there has ever been.
kilkenny only need to win 4 games to win an all ireland ffs - 08 was piss easy too
What about the unruly mobs spilling onto the pitch at Croker before the end of the game?
