Hopefully they have a strong and experienced referee at White Hart Lane for the visit of Man U on Saturday. The blackguarding that Wolverhampton Wanderers got at Old Trafford on Monday night really highlighted what you’re up against there.
Spurs have had some blackguarding from the refs in this fixture. The Pedro Mendes goal, the Howard Webb inspired turnaround in 2008/9, Nani’s dodgy goal against Huerlho Gomes etc.
The latter was officiated by Mark Clattenburg who lifted the veil on what was going on:
“…to suggest there is an aura around United that sees them given favourable decisions. There used to be when Fergie was there, but that has eased massively since he left”.
