West Ham have more than a point a game, are top 6 over the last 10 games and top 8 over the last 15. I think youâre being incredibly harsh on them. The team who goes down this season will probably have the highest points tally for a relegated side since West Ham 2003.
I was reading there that in the 38 game league, which came in mid 90âs, only 3 teams have ever reached the mythical 40 points, the so called benchmark for safety and got relegated.
West Ham (42) 2002/03
Bolton (40) 1998/98
Sunderland (40) 1997/98
Every chance Spurs will surpass the 38 points amassed under Big Ange last season. 26 points would have sufficed to stay up last season.
As you said, chances are, whoever does get relegated now in that last slot, will be one of the best sides ever to go down.

Hopefully if Tottenham are relegated theyâll be awarded a trophy for that to go with the actual trophy Ange won last year.
The rot in the league really set in under Big Ange last season. Winning a farmers league trophy like the UEFA Cup in this day and age against Norwegian fishermen and Kazakhstani herdsmen is a bit like winning a Dr McKenna Cup in Gaelic Football.

It was a Manchester United team we faced last season, managed by the hapless hipster Amorim.
They went out and bought a few decent players last summer and have a proper manager now in Michael Carrick.
We signed a load of duds last summer, appointed Thomas Frank, have had a double digit injury list all season, only signed Conor Gallagher in January as our genius of a football technical director said the injury cavalry would all be back soon. Most of them are still out crocked and a few more besides and weâve barely been able to field a team every week since Christmas.

Theyâve a load of lads injured they wonât be able to sell and the lads that arenât havenât shown much character either. Theyâd have got a 100m for Van De Veen last summer. Iâd be surprised if anyone paid anything like that now.
The scale of injuries for about 2 years now is off the scale.
