He never made it to the top of the mountain, mate. Nobody did.
The last 6km to the summit were cut off the stage due to high winds.
Froome back in yellow and the stage being expunged from the records according to twitter.

Just watched the highlights there on Eurosport. Absolutely ridiculous finish. Porte hit that motorbike some slap. Lemond called it right. He said that the shortening of the stage meant that the whole Ventoux crowd were compressed into a smaller space. And there were no barriers. Some utter cunts running along beside the riders. Absolute spastics who wouldn’t know one end of a bike from another.
