This Tour is awful to watch. That Froome lover on Eurosport is sickening to listen to
What’s your issue with Froome? Any drug questions would be even more pertinent to his main rivals.
I think he’s been great this tour. His most impressive yet. Consistently attacking, unlike Bradley, for example, who used just sit their with his team and wait for the time trials.
Lack of a decent opponent to Froome is disappointing. Maybe Porte will give him a run next year.
Amazing how shite nibali is gone. He must have been on some cocktail a few years ago
Don’t really have much of a problem with him, the lad on Eurosport just annoys me immensely when talking about him
Watching it on itv4. About the same
Froome dominant again today. At least Porte gave it a good lash. Dan Martin slips from 9th to 10th.
Mt Blanc tomorrow
Martin 7th today and up to 9th. He attacked on the last climb. Froome crashed on a wet road but was ok. Bardet won the stage and is now 2nd on GC. Martin interviewed after stage said he was happy with his form in the big hills but needs to work in timetrialling. He should talk to his uncle.
Where did all the English riders come from in the last 10 years?
20-30 years ago, an English rider was unheard off. There was that Scotch fella Miller in the 80s. But the fuckers are all over the place now.
Kenya, England and the Isle of Man
Sean Yates
Malcolm Elliott
Joey McLoughlin
Chris Boardman
Tony Doyle
Robert Millar is Scottish.
Barry Hoban
Tom Simpson
ANC-Halfords had a team in the TdeF in 1987. It was a crazy set up but surely most of that team was English.
Fixed that for you.
Raleigh Banana, featuring the great Chris Lillywhite, was my favourite English cycling team name of the time
My late uncle who lived in Kent gave me a tremendous grounding in English cycling around this time by bringing me to see the final stages of the 1987 and 1988 Tours of Britain, as well as track meetings at Maida Vale and lap races at Brands Hatch motor racing track.
