That was a great finish. I thought Martin was going to do it.
Yeah, he was boxed in further down but it opened up for him. Would really fancy him for Stage 5. Sagan is an animal.
Could see a lot of attacks on the climb 20k,before the finish. But it’s relatively flat afterwards anything bar a sprint finish be odd. Like to see the weather before calling these stages.
Make sure to let us know your pick before the stage the next time.
Sure you can do BIR until last 15-20km
Straightforward flat stage for the sprinters today. Slight uphill finish. Kittel seems to be the form pony based on his win on Sunday but I will go for Cavendish today. He was fourth on Sunday and did not attempt to contest yesterday.
Should be there or thereabouts today
Carnage in the last kilometre and a half!
Cavendish down. Horrendous crash.
That looked bad. Got creamed.
Arnaud Demare won the stage in a sprint finish from Sagan.
There were a couple of really awkward turns in the last 1.5 km and the field got split badly.
Sagan clearly elbowed Cavendish into the barrier.
Cavendish’s crash was as bad as Abdoujaparov’s in 1991 or Jalabert’s in 1994.
He’s certainly out of the race minimum.
Broken shoulder now say Eurosport.
Sagan hit him a right elbow
How’d our man Dan go?
Wasn’t in the shake up at the finish.
Think he was in the bunch that was about 40 seconds back or so?
He can’t get away with that surely?
He definitely will, I’d say.
