Rafael majka. Is a good bet for todays stage. Odds 33-1 do ew first 4 places. It’s all hill last 8-10k so strong climber obviously! His down on time so they won’t be too concerned if he makes a go for it early
Yeah Majka would be one of my top picks for today. I’d have Dan Martin as well because he can finish. Froome won there in 2012 and Nibali in 2014.
Looking back at it again, Demare and Kristoff were all over the gaffe as well, none of them kept a straight line. Sagan made an example of. He was using his elbows the previous day in an intermediate sprint so maybe his card was marked.
In terms of the punishment fitting the outcome of the incident, Sagan’s disqualification is perfectly fair.
Apparently he caused the earlier crash also.
Let’s ask the horsey lads.
@Smark @fenwaypark @anon25556527 @anon32894817 et al.
What would the stewards make of this incident?
Is it an Irish horse running in England or is it Willie mullins trained? The racing stewards wouldn’t be a great benchmark tbf
I think the organisers wanted to take him down a couple of pegs. He’s a cocky fucker, a lot to be cocky about though in fairness.
On balance, I think so. The fact that a rider was taken out of the race clinched it for him.
The incident further back the road was like a game of skittles in fairness. Red card was the correct decision
I think hes appealing?
Well see if he has any clout with Jim gavin.
There’s a decent eight man break gone today including Gilbert, De Gendt, Voeckler and Boasson Hagen. 2-3 minutes ahead but BMC are chasing it. Still 100km to go.
4km to go. Gilbert almost caught.
Hows this Majka lad going? He’s carrying the weight of my €5
All the big boys are in there.sky controlling
Martin finishes second. Pulled away from Froome and Porte in the last couple of hundred metres. Excellent performance. Fabio Aru of Italy wins the stage with a breakaway from 3k out.
Very impressive
Aru wins, Dan Martin 2nd.
Froome in yellow, Dan Martin is up to fourth @25 seconds.
A short stage review:
He made the break in the last 3k, Aru, Aru
Chris Froome allowed him to go away, Aru, Aru
He raced ahead and they let him go
I hope he’s not on the EPO
Cos’ he’s fab, fab, fab, fab, Fabio “Fab” Aru
