A busy day ahead for this thread I’d say.
Someone will panic and spend stupidly before this day os out.

Spurs have signed both Pavlynechenko and Corluka (from Man City).
Ah fuck.
Ya 7m bucks. He’s been fairly decent anytime I’ve seen him.
I always rated Charlie, a fine player. Shame to see him go.
Berb will be off soon I presume.

He’ll be off alright, and to Manchester, but which club?
Manchester City are reported to have launched an audacious attempt to sign Dimitar Berbatov from under the noses of city rivals Manchester United following their takeover by an Abu Dhabi investment group.
With Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment understood to have agreed a deal to buy City from the disgraced Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday night, the Manchester Evening News reports that a ‘dramatic 11th hour bid for United’s number one target Dimitar Berbatov’ has been sanctioned.
The newspaper claims that the Abu Dhabi group’s ‘first instruction to the Blues was to try and lure Berbatov for a reputed 28m.’
The Bulgarian is nonetheless expected to complete his long-awaited transfer to Manchester United later today with other reports suggesting that Frazier Campbell will be used as a makeweight in the deal.
Astonsihing, ah jaysus this is why I love being a Citeh fan…!
Oh ya, spunk 19million on a totally unproven striker, and go out a few weeks later and spend 30 on his replacement!
Fuck it if I wanted boring I’d be a Boro fan.
paulo ferriera set to move to west ham from chelsea…good signing for the hammers…
Not really. An inability to defend is not the first thing I look for in a right back. Anytime he had to do any defending at Chelsea he was shown up badly, and he’ll have a lot more defending to do at Upon Park.
yeah but compared to some of the muck west ham signed over the past few seasons i.e. pantsil, faubert, mccartney etc as full backs i think he is a step in the right direction for them
Anyone looking at the text update thing on the BBC website?
Some guy reporting that Owen is going back to Liverpool.
Mind you some bloke texted in to say that he works in the Chelsea club shop and they have been ordered to prepare a shirt for Robinho with the number 8 which he says was SWP’s old number. Of course that was 24 and Fat Frank wears 8. What a clown!
Macartney not too bad. Pantsil pants, faubert is like mr. glass. Lucas Neill needs a bit of competition and he’s as slow as befucked! We’ll see…
Berbatov to United/City. Frazier Campbell to Hull if Berbatov signs for United or maybe part of the deal that would take Berbatov to United. It will be a letdown if United dont sign Berbatov after no signings the entire Summer. I dont think the Saha move to Everton has gone through yet.
They’re doing fine with Behrami, and Faubert is a right midfielder. He’d just be another fucker there picking up wages (I bet you he wont be taking a cut) and doing fuck all.
The Saha deal has gone through. The number 9 shirt is now vacant. United are not selling Berbatov 9 shirts… yet.
Holy shitfuck…
Manchester City have had a 30m bid accepted for Dimitar Berbatov, with the Bulgarian set to meet Mark Hughes for talks.
According to Sky Sports News, City launched their audacious attempt to sign the Bulgarian from under the noses of city rivals Manchester United just hours after it was confirmed that the club had been bought by an Abu Dhabi investment group.
Mark Hughes has since confirmed to an SSN reporter that he is due to meet Berbatov later on transfer deadline day, though he was in no rush as he was completing a game of golf at the time.
Hughes could have a very busy day if BBC Sport are to be believed - they ‘understand’ that the club are also in talks with Valencia’s David Villa and Stuttgart’s Mario Gomez
With United apparently reluctant to meet Spurs’ 30m valuation of Berbatov and Spurs equally reluctant to do business with the Premier League champions, City’s bid may scupper the widely-held expectation that Berbatov would move to Old Trafford before the transfer deadline closes later tonight.
However, with the player reputedly intent on joining United, it remains to be seen whether he can be persuaded to sign for City even if Spurs accept their bid.
I cant see him agreeing terms with City being honest. I wonder will fergie intercept Berbatov at Manchester Airport like he did when he brought Diego Forlan to the club from under the noses of Middlesborough.
does anyone know if berbatov gets on with martin petrov and bojinov…if he does then he could well go to city…
