Had Leahy a particularly good league campaign in 1994?

I can’t remember really Chewy. Was that the day he mused on the suitability of the day for the hanging of a man?

Name the five TDs to lift Sam Maguire.
dan spring and jimmy deenihan anyway
des foley; austin stack
…to lift it as captain I should have stressed Mullach. You’ve three right but Stack didn’t captain Kerry.
Sean Flangan of Mayo is another one.
You sure Stack didn’t captain Kerry, maybe Sam wasn’t the trophy back then.
Sorry you’re right he did captain Kerry (and was a TD obviously) but didn’t lift Sam obviously back in 1904.
Leahy did give a brilliant display in that league final by the way. Hurled all over the place.
Love hm or hate him, Leahy was a super hurler.End of.
Flanagan is another, you’re just missing one now.
Mick Donnellan captained the Galway footballers to victory over Cavan in the 1925 All Ireland Final (Played in 1926…Long story). Mick was elected a T.D for Galway West in 1943.
John Donnellan, son of Mick, lifted Sam for Galway following their victory over Kerry in the 1964 All Ireland, the first of Galways 3-in-a-row. His joy was short lived however when he was informed that his father had died watching the game in the Hogan Stand (The actual Hogan Stand…Not the licensed premises of the same name). John was elected to Dáil Éireann after a by-election was held following his fathers death in 1964. He is perhaps best remembered for informing his then Fine Gael Leader, Alan Dukes, that “If it was raining soup, you’d be out trying to catch it with a fork.” His career in politics came to an end shortly after.
In related trivia, Pat Donnellan, brother of John, was also a member of the Galway 3-in-a-row team, while Johns son, Michael, inspired Galways victory over Kildare, with a magnificent performance in the 1998 All Ireland Final. What a fucking legendary Gaa family…In fact, what a fucking legendary family full stop…Gáillimh Abú
