TTK's Profitable Selections 2012

Well done TTK

It’s an incredibly homosexual “sport” but if rugby is making you money, stick with it my friend

A great weekend. Only one return in the golf, a match bet where Francesco Molinari beat Alvaro Quiros, the latter missing the cut. Ian Poulter finished in 7th, one place higher and the e/w at 100/1 would have been landed. Unlucky.

Another 100% rugby weekend, and what a weekend. Ulster proved a major success financially. They are a very good side that will hopefully now get the credit they deserve. A superb performance to beat Munster and I wouldn’t put it past them winning it now. All of those that said Munster and Toulouse were bankers should have looked at the facts, and Edinburgh caused another upset by defeating the French side. A great weekend for all and sundry that followed me in. We are now over the 40 point profit mark.

Bet 82

Benash 4.55 Punchestown. 1 point e/w 40/1 SJ and Boyles.

This fellow needs a real cut in the ground and gets ideal conditions today. He has mixed it with the best of them in the past, hasn’t been disgraced in top company, not especially well in here but conditions are massive for him. Andrew McNamara is a good man to have on your side. Competitive race with a big field but Benash is no slouch. 40/1 looks a fair bit too big, boyles go 5 places too if you can get on with them.

Both firms running scared, Boyles cut to 25s after my bet, Stan James into 22s after I got on with them online.

Nearly a great shout TTK well done

Great shout TTK, so close. Im sure a man with your class would not begrudge Snap Tie the win however

Nearly a great shout? A 40/1 2nd is a great shout.

Would have been some payout had he got up. Traded as low as 1/3 in running. A nice return all the same, 10/1 for the place. Brings us over the 50 point profit mark in here.

Thanks Laz, absolutely not, some training performance from the Master trainer. Good to see him back.

You know what I mean, only got 28’s myself but nothing wrong with it

Fair play ttk.

Great stuff again TTK. Had no bets today, so no :pint: from me.

Many thanks ttk. Super work.

Superb stuff

Had a tenner ew on this, thought he was going to win it coming to the last, but the winner was too classy. Excellent work again TTK.

Bet 83

4 points. The Tracey Shuffle 3.40 Punchestown (run at 4.50). 2/1 WH, 15/8 generally.

Pipe and Scu team up here with a real mud lover, far better than anything in this race imo. 2/1 is big, I thought it would be closer to evens. Will hopefully set a fierce pace and see them all off, making every post a winning one.

The Tracey Shuffle went down without a whimper. Finished a long way behind in 3rd.

It’s Heineken Cup weekend, a few bets to be had.

Bet 84

Clermont to beat Leinster. 4 points. 1/1. Numerous firms.

Really fancy the French side this weekend. Leinster are a top, top side but people really underestimate two things here. 1. How hard it is to win back to back European titles (only Leicester have done it) and Leinster are going for their 3rd title in 4 years, a big ask. 2. Clermont are a seriously talented side with loads of experience and the know how to win in a close game. Look at some of their players, Lee Byrne, Sivivatu, Malzieu, Rougerie, Parra, Bonnaire, Hines, Faure and of course one of the most exciting players in europe at the moment, Wesley Fofana. Leinster of course have their own stars throughout and it’s interesting to see Isaac Boss at scrum half. I think that’s a negative for them. The way Clermont disposed of Sarries was something else, not many sides could have done that, they completely dominated and their defensive effort was immense. They mix flair with solid rugby and they are the all round package. This is the game Clermont want, they are in their home country and they’ll look at this as a defining game in their history. This will be Leinster toughest test in a long time, arguably harder than the knockout games they’ve faced in previous seasons. Clermont are the ones to side with here lads.

Bet 85

Clermont (-6) v Leinster 3 points. 2/1. PP.

Same reasons as above.

Bet 86.

Ulster (-6) v Edinburgh. 5 points 1/1 Boyles.

First of all I can’t believe they are standout at 6 on the handicap line, secondly I can’t believe they are offering evens on it!! Need I give reasoning here, most followers know how highly I rate Ulster, they could very easily win the Heineken Cup. The Aviva will suit their expansive game and with all respect to Edinburgh, away from home against a side like Ulster, they could be in for a hammering. They already got their rewards with a win over Toulouse, I fancied them that day, not this weekend.

Bet 87

Clermont/Ulster final pairing. 3 points. 13/8 Ladbrokes.

All the reasoning above.

Good luck to all if you follow me in. Big weekend.

Fair analysis but I wouldn’t be able to pick either side with confidence. Nothing between them. I think Leinster are a slightly more complete side with more variety about their game. That being said, the fact the game is in France is a massive advantage for Clermont. I’m hoping that your conclusion is wrong in this instance

(Usual disclaimer: fair play on your tippping, excellent record and all that and I’m not having a go but…)

… I don’t see any relevance at all in Leinster going for back-to-back Heineken Cups to betting on or against them on Sunday. I accept the logic in your second point, and I couldn’t argue convincingly either way (though I’d lean very marginally to Leinster if pressed) but the ability of previous teams to win back-to-back European titles can’t have any relevance to Leinster’s prospects in a single match.

Agreed wholeheartedly on the Ulster bet.

I believe it has plenty of relevance Rocko, Leinster have been playing at the top level for the best part of 14 of the last 18 months. Most of those players are playing internationals (world cup last summer) as well and physically it takes it’s toal. It’s a big ask to be at your peak in terms of fitness and performance year after year in club rugby. Only the best teams will do it, Leinster are a very good side but it’s a big ask to travel to France at this stage of the competition and beat a side that are very very capable, especially after their efforts in the last couple of seasons.

Il back your tips coz of your record. Would struggle to seperate the teams myself. All I know Is whoever beat Leinster will be some team
