As you mentioned Galway, there’s also the factor of crooked biased refs. Take last night for example, I was 0.06 behind with my sole hope relying on Amari Cooper. The game was tied with 7 min left and the Texans had the ball on the Raiders 15 yard line. They ran on third down and the cunt ref spotted the ball a half yard behind where it should actually have been placed. Rather than challenging it, the Texans went for it on 4th down and the same exact thing happened again, except this time it was challenged and the challenge lost. Two completely hometown decisions that handed the ball to the Raiders and the rest is history. It was literally John Dentonesque. The cunt refs were even high fiving the Raiders players after the game.
Not true at all. Nobody pays attention to the fixture list, if he had gotten the fixtures in the order I did I’ve explained where we’d both be, this is very very simple, it’s surprising that a smart lad like you has trouble with it.
Facts are that you try to score as much as you can every single week, that’s pretty much all you can do, you do this by putting out your best team and picking up free agents and waivers, most of us have done that, in fact I think I’ve done as well as anybody.
Elvis has scored nearly 50 more points than me but I’ve conceded nearly 300 more than him. In my position would he have stopped his opponent from scoring all those points.
I’m only defending my fellow central turds from his superior comment earlier on.
I certainly pay attention to the fixture list so don’t be tarring everyone with your brush of ineptitude.
I stand over my remarks. The fixtures and divisions certainly do have an impact. For example, I’ve had to face the second best-placed franchise twice, as we’re in the same division. You only have to play him once. In fact, if the playoffs were in the morning, I’d have to face him again as the no. 1 seed v the wildcard.
Run & fuck you cunt. I’m performing badly alright but I’m learning the game.
Gas fuckers here, setting up their teams for individual matchups, looking at the fixtures list and taking notes, scoring just enough points to get by opponents because they know how much is going to be scored against them.
Meanwhile i haven’t a clue what I’m doing because I’m allowing my opposition to put up season best scores regularly, Elvis and Croppy would be putting a plan into action to prevent the opposition from scoring big
No offence lads, i understand ye can never back down on the internet but it’s fairly ridiculous.
Here, you know what you are doing apparently but you’ve one more win than me? And one of my wins was against you. Wtf are you spoofing about scores for & against when all that counts is Wins?
Good point, I was defending the honour of our division. Like a few others you had your best score of the year against me.
I would have given up weeks ago if I didn’t have a bit of pride, I know that I’ve been a little unlucky, every stat besides the only one that matters shows that.
In saying all that I’ve loved it, it’s a great game and I’m looking forward to having another crack off it next year.
I assume you didn’t stay up last night but woke to the dissapointment of the loss against @anon7035031. I’ve had a few of them.
We’ll have a tight battle this week coming I’d say.
That is very true. Clearly our division is the strongest.
Just a heads up, as clearly the commish is asleep at the wheel again…
There are three games tomorrow (TG day): Vikings v Lions 12.30, Skins V Cowboys 4.30 and Steelers v Colts 8.30. All times EST.
The onus is on all franchises to be aware of the fixtures for the players on their franchises every week.
The onus is not on the commish to ensure that complete fucking idiots can manage to check this on their own.
Of course a top, top coach looks at the opposition line up on a game by game basis. You want to neutralise his weapons to the extent possible and tweak your own lineup accordingly. For example, if his QB is likely to have a new favored passing target for the upcoming game week due to injury/suspension then you might try to pick this receiver up on waivers (if available). This can ensure you’re also accumulating points by virtue of your opponent’s QB expertise. You might change your D too if they’re coming up against some offensive players on your opponent’s team and you fear they may cause damage.
You should also check the match ups for your players and your opponents to see what suits your squad and how you can counteract where he’s likely to earn lots of points. To pick your own team in a vacuum is very naive. I’d never do that and it’s just a pity I didn’t have the time to compete this season - I only take part in something if I can give it my all and that means devoting hours to scouting your opponent on a weekly basis.
The cunt who couldn’t hack it in his own league is now doling out advice… you couldn’t make it up. As for the time excuse, he could have lineups set in three leagues while he was typing that raimeis.
Wonderful contribution from captain obvious.
How do you prevent your opposition from scoring big though? This was the crux of my point. In theory you could score 200 points every week and lose every game to teams that never get near that score any other week. The match ups are totally random,
You call the match ups totally random yet you can see your match up in front of you every week. It’s up to you to adapt accordingly to outscore what’s put in front of you - your recurring whine is akin to complaining about losing a football match 4-3 and that it’s so unfair because another match was decided 1-0.
It’s not even remotely like that. In all your years playing this game have you ever had a tactic that didn’t involve scoring as much as you could on any given Sunday? Suggestions otherwise are idiotic, you cannot influence how much your opponent scores, the comparisons with real sports are hilarious.
Many times - I’ve regularly picked players who wouldn’t necessarily score more points than someone else on my own roster but whose inclusion would be to the detriment of my opponent. If you can’t see how or why this could happen then you’re destined to be a basement division dweller for the long haul.
Sorry mate, there are no circumstances where a guy who scores less points is working to the detriment of my opponent. If you believe otherwise then it’s lucky for you that you’ve taken a sabbatical, it seems nonsensical but I’d like for you to flesh it out when you have a chance. A guy on your lineup scoring less than someone on your bench helps?
That’s patently untrue. For example, I might plump for a WR who’s on the same team as my opponent’s QB but who might not accumulate as many points as one of my other WRs. Any time he catches a pass, in particular a TD reception, it neutralizes the points gained by my opponent’s QB. Better for him to get, say, 15 points than my other receiver to get, say, 18. I’ve also specifically included flex players because they’re taking on my opponent’s D even though alternative options were likely to score a bit higher. But the flex player’s contribution even though slightly more modest in individual terms has the ability to reduce my opponent’s D score. There’s numerous instances of where similar tactics could validly apply. I don’t think you’re thinking about the permutations enough or putting enough effort into your opposition scouting.
