Your avatar is also entirely the result of tv ratings.

Myself and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy are just passing on our industry knowledge here.

We grew up with HTV and BBC Cymru in the South East so I’m not sure what you are getting at here?

TV ownership far lower outside of Dublin.

The rubby boys arguing against figures with anecdotes :person_shrugging:t2:

I doubt that was the case. All the TVs in Dublin were rented from RTV and TeleRents.

Just facts mate.

@Fagan_ODowd wasn’t aware about the availability of ITV on the Sky platform for example.

We’re just here to pass on our knowledge of the area.

Come back when you’ve actual figures then we can talk.

That’s true, but ownership is a loose term. TV was far more widely watched in urban areas to begin with. There are generations of Dubs who grew up watching it.

Lame.

I do mate. Annually football and rugby hold their own vs the GGA, despite a century of suppression and the multi channel availability of football and rugby.

All i can see is GAA dominating tbe top 5 :person_shrugging:t2:

That’s a fact Fagan, similar to how you weren’t aware of the fact that ITV was available on the Sky platform.

TV historically started in urban areas. This has continued right through the eras, from analog to digital and now even the signal switch offs.

I’d say the dodgy box a far bigger skewer of ratings than anything else theae days

In Victoria and the likes of WA it will be.

The point is cultural resonance. The GGA should be dominant given its advantages.

Not for big ticket events that are broadly available on FTA.

Roy Keane says things that engage and/or enrage people, so he is a big draw. Brian O’Driscoll doesn’t say things that engage or enrage people, so he isn’t a big draw.

I never saw a sporting event like the world cup final last month to generate so much interest from casual fans. Hard to believe it was 5th of most watched sporting events.
