Watched first episode of humans last night. Thought it was fairly crap. Does it improve?
Thanks for saving men then hassle with True Detective S2. Got 3 episodes in and thought it looked shite and based in the info here I think its time to move on.
I watched the first episode of Show Me a Hero last night. Looks very promising. Great use of Springsteen music throughout. Such a refreshing change from True Detective.
Loads of actors from The Wire showing up too. Orlando, Brother Mouzone, Maurice Levy. Orlando has really aged, he plays and older jaded politician/activist in it.

I just finished True Detective. Fuck sake. Everything @Rocko and @Juhniallio said, there was a good series in there somewhere but they made a hash of it.
For anyone that’s read James Ellroy’s LA Quartet novels, it seems to me like it “borrowed” a fuck load from that. The storyline, the dialogue, some of the scenes. The cabin in the woods where they’d discovered the murder scene where some girl had been killed or something tied to a chair was straight out of Ellroy. Attempted the same pattern/progression as those novels, start with a grisly murder, set up a few compelling characters, pull at a few threads, turns out there’s loads of corruption, drive loads of threads of complicated stories, turns out the initial murder that starts the thing off has fuck all to do with the real story which is the corruption story, tie it all up neatly at the end… Of course Ellroy is a genius and True Detective got nowhere near that.

I thought it was incredibly boring, hackneyed, cliched shite.
