Watched 5 episodes of Stranger Things over the weekend. Superb. As good as TV gets. Listening to the soundtrack now, also superb.

Anyone watching “the get down”? A potentially fantastic show ruined by Baz Luharmann. A great story line of the bronx in the 1970’s and mixed in with real life events. They’ve spent an absolute fortune on it and you can see that in places, it looks fantastic. But it’s full of his over the top cartoonish depiction of real life. There’s a lot right about it, so I’m sticking with it, but if they just toned down the glee factor it’d be much better.
The missus blitzed through it in a fortnight. She said it was the best show she’d seen in years.
It’s Stand By Me with a Horror twist but don’t be put off by the horror bit. The acting, the settings, the soundtrack, the storyline, the characters…all brilliant. Get on it, bro.
Its outstanding. Picture a mix between Stand by Me and ET. King crossed with Spielberg. You won’t regret it.
As Don Draper would say, Nostalgia sells.
It’s only 8 episodes I think. Will finish it tonight or tomorrow I’d say.

Is The Night Of one season only. They have a serious amount of loose ends to tidy up in the final episode if so.
Cartoon is the right word. The music is great, some of the characters are fantastic but they did some fucking with it…Baz only directed the first episode.

Finished it anyway… It has some good moments and some good characters but the story got weaker in the middle. The music is great tho.
