Tv Shows & Mini Series (Part 1)

Next week is season 3 finale

Started on the Inbetweeners last night. Quality stuff.

Am looking for a decent show for the summer. Still have The Wire to get through, and am half way through rewatching The Soprano’s, but its not so much old shows that I’m looking for, I’m on the look out for something new starting out, anyone got any buzz over the summer schedule? Rescue Me is back shortly for its final series, Mad Men can’t be far away either, but as far as I can see the rest of what is coming out of the States is purely fucking reality TV shows or shite of that ilk. Disappointing.

Eastbound and Down is a load of shite. Watched 2 shows and its utter nonsense.

Have you watched Breaking Bad?

Nope. Plan on giving it a shot at some point, but I wasn’t referencing shows that are already running, I was wondering is there anything new coming?

I see they cancelled Flash Forward by the way. Writers fucked up taking a stroll half way through the first season, lost their viewers, no amount of work gets them back.

Starting on The Wire and Mad Men myself this evening. Downloaded a good bit of 30 Rock and Charlie Brooker’s Newswipe as well recently, both quality.

Ya know the seasone finale of Flash Forward actually had potential but there was a load of dung in the leadup.
Any chance another network would pick it up?

I haven’t heard of anything shiny and new in the pipeline.
I must watch the rest of Treme.

Have Treme there, watched first 15 mins and realised I fucking detest jazz, which could be a problem.

Its a good show though, i’m 7 episodes in (up to date i think) and i like it. Was never a big Jazz fan, but its not just all Jazz, there are country, blues and a nice mix. I’m starting to appreciate the music in it to be honest.

I will give it another go at some stage. Usually give a show 4-5 eps just to see, I’ll give Treme a run some day I’m lying off hungover.

Starting The Wire and Mad Men at the same time :o Good luck with that bro.

Plunging head first back into Mad Men again, in the hope of getting up to speed again before the start of the new season. Rewqatched first few episodes, ah its great tv altogether.

Have yet to come across anything remotely decent coming up in the Summer Schedule. The Good Guys stars Colin Hanks and the excellent Bradley Whitford. Its an American comedy-drama series about an old-school cop and a modern-day detective, played for laughs, not sure its very good to be honest, have watched just one episode so far though so will give it one or two more to see if it takes up at all. Its gotten a run of 20 episodes so they must expect something decent from it.

Another one I came across can be written off immediately I’d say, seems to be a cross between Desperate Housewives and The OC. Some decent birds in it, but keep well away from Pretty Little Liars, just saw one episode, one for the ladies.

Downloaded Rubicon the other day. Haven’t gotten around to watching it yet, but the blurb would make it sound a little interesting at least. The series will be about an intelligence analyst at a national think tank who discovers that his employers may be part of a secret society that manipulates world events on a grand scale. Will give it a shot and see where it leads.

These are the only ones that have popped up so far, far from stellar Summer line up. Mad Men is back in July though, so thank God for small mercies.

anyone on here after watching generation kill?

watched the first ep last night seems decent, how could it noe be fromt he same people who brought us the wire.

Generation Kill is good alright.

The finale of Breaking Bad was super.
For the love of God people, go and watch this show.

Rubicon and The Good Guys sound interesting, I’m won’t bother with the other one.

One of the gays has insisted that Cougar Town got much better after a terrible start.
I gave up after 6 or 7 mins of the first episode. Anyone keep watching it?

I watch Cougar Town on and off. Its pretty harmless, but the neighbours husband and her ex husband are mildly funny I must admit. The fella across the road is some dweeb though, break that fucking guitar off his head.

I’ll give Breaking Bad a go then just to shut you up.

These programmes for birds seem to be made to appeal to all but the thickest of them. Real lowest common denominator stuff.

Entourage is back. Series 7 started in States last night. Decent first episode in my opinion.

well said watched it there earlier. ari gold is the man.

fuck ya nice one.

i’ve kept an eye on cougar town, busy phillips is quiet lovely despite being on the large side and there is the odd decent laugh.
