We knew each other from Oz,.met him at his 30th, and he headed to LA to make a go of acting. I went out to San Fran a couple years later and started a company.
He was a great operator and I gave him a job. His one request was if he got a shot at the acting, he’d have to be able to drop everything without notice. Grand says I.
One day he rings high as a kite and says “the time has come, I’m after landing a gig on General Hospital. This is my first shot at the big time. Will be unavailable for 3 days as playing role.of a terrorist who takes over the hospital”
“Grand, whatever is needed, I’ll.pick up the slack”
He was top of the world heading off to shooting. Few days later he’s back and flat as a pancake. “How’d you get on?”
“Ah, was only alright”
“Only alright, how so?”
" I was hoping it would be my big shot, get my face on a big production."
"Right and?
“Well, I was one of 4 terrorists. And first day of shooting they stuck a fucking balaclava on me and told me wear that for the 3 days shooting”!!!

Watched the first two the other night, seems grand, I’d say it will improve. The first two reminded how shamelessly the first book ripped off the lord of the rings, practically scene for scene, outrageous stuff.
