Tyrone couldn’t buy a free off him. Cian O’Sullivan got about three or four very soft frees when he threw himself to ground under fair tackles.
We were our own worst enemies today but the referee rode us.

Meaths previous free was ultra soft tbf, lads so fuck all to be whinging about there.
They’re dancing in the streets in Palestine
The ref rode Meath.
Far, far more blatant ones not given to Tyrone. Loughran had one at the other end of the pitch actually go against him.
All that matters is the result.
Hopefully it’s Sligo/Leitrim or the Leinster losers next.
Still and all it’s a tough break not to be given an easy free to equalize at that stage when it was so blatant.
I didn’t see much of the game but the consensus and what I saw is that Tyrone got the breaks from the ref
I only started watching that around 59 minutes in but the referee was certainly very poor in that time. Failing to play the advantage when Tyrone were through on goal when it was level deep into injury time was just awful.
Tyrone were certainly perilously close to going out at the end of normal time but that was a great pressure score from Cathal McShane.
Utimately they did what they had to do, and that’s to get through by hook or by crook. That’s the only thing Round 1 of the qualifiers is about. The history of the qualifiers is littered with teams who have had very lucky escapes in the qualifiers and went on to greater things - Mayo last year are a perfect example.
It wasn’t blatant.
It’s 50/50, Tyrone would have quite rightly been raging had a soft free like that been given.
The same referee from the Armagh Tipp game last year who disallowed an Armagh goal by not playing advantage.
It’s blatant if you’re from Meath, a very obvious push to be fair
Paddy Neilan, was it?
Yes.
He’s consistent anyway.
Be fair here.
Was the previous free for Meath to bring it back to a 1 point deficit a correct call?
Ref was sceptic for both teams.
There was instance as well in the second half where Tyrone had the ball 30 yards from goal with a great chance at shooting and he pulled it back to award a free from outside the 45 yard line. It can be very frustrating at times.
The game should have been over in the first half though. I think had we went 6/7 points up then Meath would have wilted.
Tyrone want a handy draw next time out, we’re vulnerable right now.
Good to see Cavanagh come into it late on.
McShane got us out of jail today but sometimes he is brainless beyond belief. He took 3 or 4 crazy shots on in the second period of extra time that there was no reason and gifted possession back to Meath.
Leitrim would bate Tyrone.
Stick to the ruggers.
Leave down the Gin, mate.
The coaching must be very poor when you see players repeatedly doing that. The player has the talent, but it’s like they’re going out there with no instruction to look up before making a decision to shoot.
Terribly frustrating to watch.
Fucking knew it
