Tyrone 2018 - Happy to Work with British State-funded Operations

Why?

There’s at least 2. More than Kerry, Mayo or Dublin have in their provinces.

You’re worried about playing outside Croke Park.

Where did I say I was worried?

Tyrone have a home advantage that is going to be worth some points to them. I don’t think Dublin are going to lose but it wont be the stroll in the park the hammering they gave Tyrone last year in Croke Park. I’m actually looking forward to this, it will be a cauldron of hate and if it isn’t I will be disappointed. I expect Dublin to go out and blow Tyrone away for the first 20 minutes and kill the game and crowd and then to just control the game from there taking there chances when they come.

I don’t think Dublin were too bothered in the last 11 minutes of the game. Donegal didn’t show any ambition to try and close the gap or attempt the win the game so I think the Dublin lads said fuck this and just passed the ball around between them.

Its this lack of ambition by teams to try and make contest of the games that is turning people of going to see them. Sad thing to see.

You said you were worried. It’s hilarious.

Can you please show me where I said I was worried?

Ah here man, you need to stop taking whatever drugs you are on.

Donegal were never going to engage in the suicidal tactic of chasing the Dubs back into their own half but at least they had the balls to take them on when they won the ball back. I can’t ever remember such a cowardly performance by a Dublin team in a winning position at the end of a game.

From the RTE Match tracker during that period of Dublin tedium.

66 mins

Dublin 2-14 Donegal 0-16

Donegal have harried and chased Dublin relentlessly. Eventually, a slack James McCarthy handpass enables them to regain possession.

They work the ball up the field, Leo McLoone wins a handy free and Murphy slots it.

Only four points now. One thought here: What if McBrearty was fit?

59 mins

Dublin 2-14 Donegal 0-14

Hint of a goal chance after Stephen McMenamin feeds Michael Langan but the centre forward leans back while shooting and it blazes over the bar.

A goal was required to pull them back into it.

Backtrack.

Why are you worried about the venue?

I think Dublin did what they had to do and they like I said they wasted at least 3-08 in that game. They should have been out of site by half time. I don’t even think they got into third gear, Donegal played with 15 men behind the ball so Dublin just passed it around, they were winning they didn’t need to chase the game. Dublin were sloppy but on the bright side it gives them something to work on for the weekend.

Go way outta ya junkie. Your off your rocker.

Backtrack.

You seem to be confused now, Dublin are the junkies, the prospect of playing outside Dublin seems to have you delirious with confusion.

Fair enough if you think so but Donegal made plenty of their own mistakes when they had the chance to put Dublin under more pressure - Brennan’s goal chance and a few poor attempts at long balls to put the Dublin full back line under pressure.

I wouldn’t be as concerned if Donegal have to play the Dubs again.

Hey hey hey!!!

Dublin have an outstanding record on the road outside of Dublin. Since Kevin Heffernan took over in 1974, I think its only two championship matches Dublin have lost outside of Dublin, a Leinster Semi Final defeat to Laois in Tullamore in 1981 and a Quarter Final replay defeat to Kerry in Thurles in 2001. Year after year throughout the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and into this century whenever Dublin have gone to Portlaoise, Navan, Tullamore (bar 1981), Carlow, Wexford, Kilkenny, Longford, Cork, Carrick-on-Shannon, Clones or wherever they’ve been sent, Dublin have beaten pretty much everything that has been put in front of them.

By way of contrast since 1974, Dublin have lost 36 Championship matches in Croke Park. You’ve a far better chance of beating Dublin in Croke Park than you do outside of Dublin.

Why is Taz scared so?

I can’t speak for Taz. It has got unruly up in Omagh during some league meetings.

I didn’t think the Dubs would be put off by a bit of rough stuff.
