Uk affairs, The Double Lizzie Crisis (Part 1)

I do love the way there is continued wailing about the “Tory Press” from the left, when they have no problems with vicious characterisations of Conservatives themselves. This has been happening since Thatcher.

“But we’re the right ones!”

Entirely accurate characterisations. Just look at yourself. You fit Brooker’s description perfectly.

The best proof of how the majority of the press and the Tories are hand in glove with each other is the Tories’ stated policy that Leveson 2 won’t go ahead.

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you and all that.

The cabinet are emasculated. All big decisions are made by her and the two advisers. There was a pretence that she was returning to cabinet rule rather than sofa rule under Cameron. You couldn’t put the likes of liam fox and David Davis in front of the public. This is all the Govers fault.

Not this one anyway. I’ll bet his influence will be visible in the next week though.

How do you confuse a Daily Mail reader?

Tell them migrants are the natural predators of paedophiles.

I honestly think the ira thing is a positive with many voters. The tories are just out of date.

The Tories’ strategy will be for the press to continue to try and smear Corbyn (though that isn’t working), and to only talk about Brexit.

Corbyn is stealing their thunder today though. He’s making a speech on Brexit and is going to eviscerate their “reckless” strategy and set out how “no deal” would be a disaster.

Corbyn can hammer the hammer here.

The Tories are a lot more vulnerable on Brexit than they think.

Threasa May is too focused on Brexit to appear in TV debates for the election. Unlike Corbyn she has no time to be wasting contesting the election that she herself called when there was no need to do so.

I was in Manchester last night and sheffield today.
Couple of things.

“Northerners” are way more hospitable and friendly than modern Irish. Its time we dropped this "friendliest people in the world, its a nonsense.

Its a beautiful part of the world. Journey to sheffield is magic.

Basics are so much cheaper.

The fanny is outstanding.

Anyway, in line with the thread. I have not met one person who wants the UK to leave the EU. They have a genuine fear of being cast aside in the world. They expect economic gloom for at least 10 years.

Who the fuck voted for this farce? A few have said their mates now regret voting leave.

Another point. T. May is in big trouble i would suggest. That presser yesterday was embarrassing. She is way way out of her depth

Today’s YouGov has it 42 to 39. But the gap on the poll of polls is 9pts. A return to two party politics.

Sheffield is a surprisingly great city. I thought it’d be a wasteland of closed steelmills etc (and there is a bit of that) but it’s a lovely place in general. Cheap as fuck too.

Sheffield did actually vote narrowly for Brexit. 6,000 votes was the margin.

We’ve had an entire campaign now focused on a Dementia Tax and laughing at Theresa May’s idiosyncrasies. :grinning:

Let’s get off the stage about there being a wholesale bias. There is right wing bias certainly, but there is plenty of the other side and balanced coverage too.

It is a tactic of the left to vilify people who believe in a limited form of government. When you point out facts and figures, they move onto the attack.

Think you answered your own question there!

It’s quite funny how rattled you are Tim, you’re all over the shop

Students couldn’t get out of bed sid. They would if there was a next time.
If corbyn got rid of Diane Abbott, he’d give himself a better chance.
