Universally loved Irish People

& a prod too

Norton is excellent, a great story and a seemingly very sound man all considered.

Davis Brent-esque

Definitely an alright sort

This is both a lovely mental image and a damning assessment of pop music after the 1990s.

Gaining recognition during the 80s and 90, a time when pop was very experimental, there were probably some people who considered my music as something from a bygone era. But I can’t do anything about that – people like what they like. There’s lots of music that I don’t particularly like, but there’s nothing wrong with it. In 1992, I was performing I Just Want to Dance With You on the same episode of Top of the Pops as the Shaman [performing Ebeneezer Goode]. We are at two ends of the spectrum, musically speaking, but it was amazing.

Lovely man. When you think of the teams he sent out, he couldnt be more different. I wonder how he’d have done in the modern era, how he’d be viewed under the microscope of the current media and social media.

True.

There is something magnetic about him. What he did when Meath was incredible when you think of it. Four All Irelands in 12 years with two different teams more or less. And not a football super power.

And pretty much ran out the door at the end of it sadly. But in fairness to him, he didnt let it affect him and he’s been quietly in and out in backrooms since. Both teams had their magic, but the way he came out of nowhere with that second team, and moved players up and down the field to fill gaps was incredible. For a quiet man, he bred tough fucking bastards though so there’s no shortage of steel to him.

That’s the Leitrim blood him in - his Mam is from outside Mohill.

Would you see him about much?

In a word. No.

Although given the little amount of time I’ve been around the area in the last two years he could well be living there.

Ah right, missus seen him in Rye River about a month ago, thought he’d be a very public figure.
