Zidane was much better than Maradonna ā¦ Maradonna played most of his career in a really poor era that lads smoked and drank regularly.

One thing that I often wondered about Maradona was why Barcelona sold him and why he spent his best years at a then small Italian club?

His control was off the chartsā¦ It looked like he was gliding on a pitch. He could control games, assist, score, beat players, tackleā¦ Whatever you wanted and he made it look simple. He was sublime.

Reading in Shoot in September 1992 that Des Walker was on the equivalent of 30 thousand British pounds a week at Sampdoria blew my mind.

Platini was a superb player, is there an equivalent these days? I havenāt seen much football in the last ten years, the mid 80s French were a joy to watch
