Famous people deaths are more newsworthy than non famous people. His brother is mentioned as an afterthought. It’s not right but it’s way it is.

The fact it’s Liverpool makes it more newsworthy in Ireland than it ordinarily would’ve been. I don’t think Tommy Mescall would be reporting live outside the ground for RTÉ if it were a comparable Newcastle, Man City or Chelsea player for instance.

I would have thought it’s blindingly obvious why the completely unexpected death of an extremely well known Liverpool player at the age of 28 is major international news, but then what would I know.

All I’m surprised about is we haven’t yet had somebody on here claiming the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother were because of the Covid vaccine. I’m sure if I look on the INTERNET I’ll find such a claim though.

I used chuckle at the Mayo lads who’d lament all the All Ireland Final defeats they’d had. I’d take that just to experience those two weeks beforehand just once.
