I think someone said it here before but he seems to be at his best when heās not the main man in the forwards. He sort of became the main man after Canning retired. He could never seem to find a yard of space and he always seemed to have two opponents up on his back as well as the rest of the Galway team. He didnāt look like a fella who was enjoying his hurling much these past couple of seasons but with lads like Rabbite, Niland and Burke breathing new life into things Whelo is starting to look back to his best again.
