It was a brilliant sidestep by Cohen though.
No, I’m not a white man mocking black gangsta culture.
I’m a white man mocking white people who appropriate black gangsta culture.

England squad are a far more likeable bunch than what’s left in the World Cup. Makes it harder to dislike them.

Doing the right thing is never easy

The rest of south America appears to hate Argentina. I’d been going to post this in the things I learned today (/recently) thread. None of the other south American countries cheer for them. The Brazilians say the Argentinian fans are horribly racist. There was something about ā€œwhitening projectā€ and erasure of black people a hundred years ago or something. And of course Argentina has a fascist government at the moment.

You could swap in England and Europe for nearly every bit of that

Brasil struggles with racism as much as anywhere. While Argentina might have had a clear out over 100 years ago, slavery was still legal in Brasil up to the 1890s. Those Brasilian cunts can go shit in their hat with their hypocrisy.

Are they really that likeable? I feel like that’s a cliche at this stage. Pickford regularly acts the prick on the pitch and ended a man’s season with a tackle worse than Keane’s on Haaland. Marc Guehi refused to wear an LGBQT armband (on religious grounds which you’d respect), Anthony Gordon is a rash and sneaky fucker too on the pitch, Declan Rice led us a merry dance and stole 3 senior caps, Jordan Henderson pretended to be an LGBQT supporter only to forget about it when the Saudi bag was available, Quansah messaged Bonnie Blue (allegedly), Ivan Toney bets on his own matches, Rashford and Mainoo caused trouble for Ruben Amorim at Yanited.

Kane is a serial diver.

He swore on someone’s life for a goal he clearly hadn’t scored.

Kane playing golf with Trump and generally being a cunt on the pitch. Bellingham seems to fall out with a lot of people

Colombian community in Ireland were on with Callan before the Swiss game, said that they would all support Argentina to go all the way if they were knocked out

And there in a nutshell is why Colombia consistently fail.

Callan’s fault!

Hardly a hanging offence.

Brazil has plenty of fascist governments over the years, some democratically elected.

Historically the Argies have looked down on other South Americans. Large part of that was the whiteness factor. They have minimal indigenous mixing (mestizo) and tiny black population compared to other SA countries. They also historically had a better economy than the others. From the late 1800s through the early 1900s Argentina rivaled the USA as upcoming new world economic and political powerhouse, and was arguably the richest country in the world for several decades. Buenas Aires rivaled Paris and London as one of the great capitals of the world. Those days are obviously long gone, but a bit like the Brits, the mindset continues.

Because of that whitening project I mentioned.

DNA studies show that over half of Argentines have indigenous heritage.

There’s an organised campaign being orchestrated against them on social media at the moment. Sad to see plenty of Irish young people saying they cant support Argentina because of the Falklands War. Ignoring of course that the Taoiseach of Ireland at the time supported them, and the big difference was that he was democratically elected.
