Just out of Saipan. Better than i expected in fairness

Wrongs on both sides

As I’ve gotten older and my perspective changes, I realise Keane was an utter cunt and one of the senior players should has clocked him.

But yes, wrong on both sides. Keane, like sanctimonious children like Cruyff and Laudeup before him, will take his wrongness and regret to the grave with him.

Yeah I enjoyed it too, agreed it is amateur hour too much with the FAI but Keane abrasive nature didn’t help.

Anyone seen Marty Supreme yet?

The John Delaney character and the other FAI blazers protrayed as complete simpletons was a good laugh.
Roy has since said he should have played in the WC. He should have. But Mick handled things badly too. Accusing him a faking injuries when there was an agreement with Ferguson etc

Not seen Marty Suprmene yet
Next week i hope

Yeah he shouldn’t have manufactured the confrontation in front of the players, remember Roy once describing it as Mick pulled this newspaper out of his back pocket like he’s Paul Daniels

Mad how Tom Humphries who obviously couldn’t be characterised in the film was instead portrayed as a young Asian female journalist.

Nuremberg - meh.

Too Hollywood.

Watching Hitlers inner circle on Netflix again, the absolute shithousery going on between them was astonishing as they all looked to climb on top of the other, how Goebbels made it to 1945 is nothing short of miraculous.

Went to it this evening and enjoyed. I can remember all the matches but I was still only 7 at the time so some of the inaccuracies may have gone over my head a bit. They definitely overplayed how tight the 2nd leg against Iran was. Sure they only scored a consolation goal at the very end. I’d doubt Keane’s wife arrived out to Saipan in the thick of the training camp either considering he’s then depicted as flying home alone. Good film overall though. An awful shame he didn’t play and we effectively lost out on a place at Euro 2004 as a consequence too.

Your right on the Iran game, was in 1st year of secondary school myself, from memory it was in November 1st leg on a Saturday evening was 2-0 2nd leg 1 or 2pm following Thursday so we got a half day in school, it was a very uneventful game which suited us, Iran scored in injury time.
