Meet the patents is the last good film he was in. He’s vastly overrated tbf, getting by based on his attachment to the godfather series but Pacino and Brando were better than him in the series anyway. Goodfellas was good but its not memorable for him whatsoever. Raging bull and taxi driver are both overrated I think.

He can only do that sort of brooding, tough Italian gangster role but hes so old now he can’t do that either. He’s made incredible use of his average enough talent abilities for me. Also his agent must be awful to keep pitching these shit films to him.

Hard to turn down the handy $$$$$ though

How much does he need though… Surely it gets to the point where once you hit 70 and have 50+ million in the bank (??) that you’re satisfied with your lot and kick back instead of prostituting yourself out to any old shit that’ll cast you and undoubtedly ruining how people remember you.

Killer Elite is a very good film

How anyone can attempt to summarise De Niro’s career as done above and omit any of the below

The Deer Hunter
Mean Streets
The King of Comedy
Once Upon a Time in New York
The Mission
Angel Heart
Midnight Run
The Untouchables
Cape Fear
This Boys Life
Heat

Is fucking hilarious. To trivialise Raging Bull and Taxi Driver into the bargain, well enough said.

He was good in Silver Linings Playbook, which I thought was very decent

Enough what said? You’re tackling the poster here not the point.

De Niro is a journeyman actor who has sold himself out to appear in an inordinate amount of shit and sullied his reputation as a result.

Look at DiCaprio or Hardy as present day actors who generally spare themselves and only appear in quality stuff. You could add McConaghey recently and Bale is another who prefers quality over quantity.

De Niro is very much overrated but of course you only go with the safe opinion of the masses so I wouldn’t expect you to agree with this.

De Niro a journeyman actor? Ah for fuck sake. Name a few other journeymen actors there?

As for the other actors you named, they’re all about 30 years younger than De Niro. Lets see how they’re doing in 30 years time.

I actually though his performance is The Untouchables was overly camp although I appreciate they purposely hammed it up in certain areas. Hard to argue with anything else on that list apart from Angel Heart which I’ve never seen.

You might even say it’s even harder to argue with Angel Heart since you haven’t seen it.

What does that mean you fool? Washed up like De Niro?

Interesting how you ignored the 1st part of the post.

And throwing around insults now. Clearly unable to back up your post, but I’ll give you another chance to though.

And De Niro is anything but washed up, he was very good in Silver Linings Playbook only a few years ago, even getting an Oscar nomination from his peers.

He hasnt done a daycant movie since goodfellas and casino, i thought he was brilliant in both His godfather performance is over rated imo. Thats a great list thpugh from mbb tgf. Is the irishman still on the cards or has it been ditched?

I think that’s basically it. He gets paid big money for small parts, just so his picture in on the cover and name in the credits.
Handy money, in other words.

A Bronx tale was alright.

He has had some top parts alright, but has he ever given a top, top leading role? Taxi Driver only? The rest of his great movies he shared the accolades in my opinion.

Seems to be top dog in Dirty Grandpa anyway, bud.

Statement from Disney

Indiana Jones will return to the big screen on July 19, 2019, for a fifth epic adventure in the blockbuster series. Steven Spielberg, who directed all four previous films, will helm the as-yet-untitled project with star Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

Famed archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones was introduced in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark – one of AFI’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time – and later thrilled audiences in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The four films have brought in nearly $2 billion at the global box office.

Disney are gonna plunder everything Lucasfilm has. Just a shame Spielberg is persisting with this after the hames they made of Crystal Skull. At least that cunt Shia surely wont be back for this.
