Its a difficult business picking the winner of a golfing major. Since Eldrick won his last at the US Open in 2008, there’s been 19 different winners in the last 26.
Of the fancied players, Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson look best placed. Mid range/long shot, Patrick Reed, Louis Oousthizen and Branden Grace might be worth a bit of each way value.
I’ve backed Dustin Johnson for this
Ricky Fowler and Snedeker so far. Waiting on Faldo…
It has to be Mr America- Philip Alfred Mickelson to win no 4.
Fair play to Tiger for taking time to pose with two make a wish kids today

Jack Nicklaus got a hole-in-one in the par 3 contest today. Legend
I backed Rickie Fowler each way and Steve Stricker to finish in the top ten.
Shane Lowry is fairly unique. An apparently sound chap from Offaly. Good read from him in The Irish Times:

He should focus on losing some weight though and he shouldn’t wear ridiculous Lee Westwood style outfits. A white trousers with a salmon or red shirt isn’t a good look if you’re a fat bastard. He should wear darker colours.
Dungeon.

Lowry is a thoroughly alright sort. Wears black and white on Sunday’s as a homage to his home GAA club Clara, big into gaa and sport in general. A shining light in an irish sporting landscape blighted by dim rogbbee players and no mark soccerball players and a pubehead turncoat
I agree with that for the most part. However, he’s also fallen in with the Leinster rugby football scene and that’s a major disappointment. You’ll see him tweeting about how nervous he is before a Leinster match or how he’s looking forward to catching up with the goys in 37 the night of the game.
That’s disappointing to hear, living on carton demesne means he might come in contact with some of these cretins, I can only hope it reflects his affable nature towards all men rather than a turn towards cuntishness. Lowry and hanahoe (who couldn’t have a hoe) are an example for all parents on this site. Send your kid to a dublin rogbee school and he becomes a deviant doing time on rikers, keep him grounded in his local gaa club and you have a successful well rounded (in many ways) individual. Rural ireland, huzzah!
Cabrera -2 thru 10. Unreal, unbelievable.
He’s a prick.
You’ll therefore be glad to read that he’s just whacked a ball way left into water on the 11th hole.

He has a fitness coach! Handy number if ever there was one.
Lowry having a nightmare start +3 after
If he’s lick rogbee players arses then he’s a prick, a posturing, populist prick.
