Uh oh.
Some putt
Rors will fill his togs going up against DeShambo
That will rattle the lad from the wee country.
Up ya boy ya
I’d say that’s no harm for McIlroy to keep the mind focussed
The auld partitionists peeking over the parapet here
Even if it hadn’t gone in it was an unbelievable putt. The way it tracked
You still don’t get it if you think Rory can be rattled anymore
The security guard ducted down so DeChambeau could continue his hand slaps uninterrupted!
Team USA!
No sweat Rory !
It’ll be all Stars and Stripes tomorrow•

That was some parade of absolute cracker cunts
Ive met a fair few professional golfers. The irish open used to be in portmarnock and lads actually used to stay in digs style accomodation! There were a couple of houses on the road that hosted golfers and they came out to play ball with us one of the evenings. So there we were, a heap of kids playing ball on the green and 3 golfers turned up and joined in. Imagine! Progolfers saying fuckit, ill hang out with the kids…One of them was a lad called roger davis. He nearly won it! And another lad was frank nobilo. He was sound! Ian woosnam also became superlinked with our local butcher, who he stayed with every time he was in ireland…
Any night swimming after or are you still not allowed talk about it?
Have a feeling De Shambles will eat up the wee fella from Down this evening. Could be like Faldo & Norman all those years ago.
Nice… we would have late swimmed at that stage but were too young for actual nightswimming…
Also, my mate’s wife worked for tourism ireland for a good while and had to work the irish open at one stage. They ended up on a night out with clarke and Westwood. Apparently clarke was sound in a loveable rogue trying to ride ya sort of way but Westwood was a horrible sleazy fucker. When you look at him you can kind of see it.
I dunno. Dechambeau looks like he could fuck up at any minute too. He hit some wild shots. One thing that is clear is that if mcilroy wins it’ll be the greatest sporting achievement of any irish person ever. Cc @Bandage
Cant wait for the duel in the gust this evening. This is going to be epic, whichever way it swings.
Rumble in the jungle vibes about this battle of the heavyweights
Of that there can be no doubt ![]()
The first three & half days at any major is making sure you’re still in contention when the tournament starts on the back nine tonight (c @ChairmanDan). McIlroy, barring an early implosion tonight, has done that but every day, every hole, every shot can take on a life of its own at Augusta. I saw Lawrence Donegan say that 66 was about the worst score Rory could have posted yesterday based on his imperious ball striking, whereas 69 was the best Bryson could have scored given he was scrambling & inconsistent. And yet…and yet today is a completely new day. There’s no guarantee their respective games will remain on a similar trajectory. There’s pressure, psychology, a matchplay element, the weight of history, their US Open duel. This will be compelling viewing later & there could be many twists & turns. I, for one, wish the (northern) Irishman well.
