Well off it now, that’s quite enough news for a few hours anyway. I might go out for a pint.
Oh yes, that’s right, pubs with outdoor seating have been open here all week.
Been really nice to get out for a few.

How did you get on @glasagusban?

Boston is just not a very mixed city. The Bruins get the trash alright. You won’t see much diversity down in the Financial District.

I think if you are a black person as part of an ethnic minority there is no other country you would prefer to live in the world than America. There has been a black president, sec of state, CEOs, NFL coaches, news anchors, chat show hosts and some of best paid actors in tinseltown are black.

However the police are really glorified and elevated to tags like New York’s finest. They are granted exceptional powers and with that comes abuse of power and the feeling of acting with impunity. The police should be public servants and protectors above all else. Then you have black people who are institutionalised and born into poverty who cannot access educational resources or opportunities who have no other recourse than to turn to criminal activities. It is hard to break the family chain of watching a father/uncle or brother becoming imprisoned. The problem perpetuates. Many of these people never had a father figure or stable family unit and so the since of belonging comes from joining a gang.

When you put the 2 problems together it just leads to anarchy and chaos.

Throw that in with a pandemic where where people who had a relatively comfortable life up to 2 months ago now rely on food banks and you get another ingredient to the cocktail
