There’s an overwhelming amount of virtue signalling taking place here over the past few days. There wasn’t a peep when Z’yon Person or Tyshawn Lee were murdered as a direct result of gang violence in the US.

When a black cop kills a white civilian and there have been plenty examples, is that racist? How about a Hispanic cop killing a white civilian?

Hmmm. I’m not saying that either you or @ironmoth are wrong. However you have to remember that the cop and George Floyd both worked as bouncers in the same night club. Surely their relationship for that period deserves to be investigated. That doesn’t take away from what’s happened. That doesn’t imply that the murder was or was not racially motivated. But it is an important part of the jigsaw that needs to be looked at.

By all means. Indeed if evidence comes out that something happened between George Floyd and the cop at the nightclub, it could well be the nugget that secures charges for the other three cops.
The racism angle here is possible, but it is not obvious. Is it obvious from watching the video that Floyd George was high on meth? Or had a criminal record for aggravated robbery with a gun? No. What is obvious is that this death was unnecessary and a number of police officers, who had a sworn duty to protect and serve, failed. They should be punished accordingly.

Very important question alright Mike. What was also frightening about a nightmarish scene was the satisfied look of the Policeman’s face throughout the incident.
As any reasonable person would agree, the matter has been handled terribly.
Looting is wrong, attacking innocent shop owners is wrong but the whole story was handled with blatant disregard & disrespect by authorities from the off.
A man choked to death, people in attendance recording & begging for the man to be released.
All horrific and so easily the whole story could have been cooled, but by the actions taken afterwards a massive surge of anger was caused.
Now, imo that anger has been used as free for all to go and take, pillage & steal. That is wrong on two levels, both for those in authority and those now making cheap bank.
When the head honcho couldn’t care less then who now leads the fight for calm?
