No one knows the motivation. Them lads could have had history. The cop could have been out to kill regardless. It could be outright racism, or all three.

Whether that was a racist incident or not, (I’m not sure one way or the other, I’m pretty certain he didn’t mean to kill) it’s more than a little mad to try to convince anybody that the USA doesn’t have a massive problem with racism, the Irish Americans are as bad as anybody, as a young lad working on sites in New York and hanging around with an Irish crowd I had a front row seat, I doubt much has changed
That’s correct, as an isolated incident the motivation is not known.
The response from black people in America shows that this is absolutely not an isolated incident and that there is a serious underlying issue
To discredit that based on a few statistics is racist
What @ironmoth is doing here is exactly that. He is showing this statistic and his view of it isn’t that there’s prejudicial treatment from the law it’s that blacks are more likely to be violent criminals

I posted this already. The cop worked with Floyd as a bouncer in a nite club. That relationship needs to be thoroughly investigated before any definite conclusion can be drawn.

I was in Philly and the racism isn’t even hidden, it’s in your face.
But don’t think it goes one way. Black lads in philly are racist against white lads too.
I was aware of them knowing each other and it’s likely he had a grudge but here’s the clincher, If Floyd was white would he have done the same thing?

You dont know that for certain. You dont know what was going through that cops brain. You cant tell if there was some type of incident between them at the nite club. But you should a,so take into account that one of the cops clearly has an Asian background. The other question that needs to be asked is if three other cops would put their careers and lives on the line purely to facilitate a racial killing.
Various issues are getting conflated.
There is no police policy of murdering black people, but that’s what’s now suggested by some, the reality is due to several bad interactions people end up dead. The only clear cut murder I remember seeing is that man that was shot in the back running away in Charleston.
The protests in Ferguson were very instructive, looking at it impartially, which courts have to, Michael Brown committed a robbery then straight after reached in a police car and began punching a cop and tried to take his gun. Sorry to say but they were right to shoot him. It sparked riots and protests but if you look at videos of the protests after, the complaints that kept on coming from local black folk was that the cops are always acting against us, in our faces, stopping us for no reason hassling us etc it was really years of what they rightly perceived as aggressive and racist behaviour that they were protesting. It’s similar here, whatever the motivation for George Floyd’s killing the black people out protesting are sick of the continuous harassment, stops and searches etc they are subjected to.
But the problem is, that’s what cops are being told to do, and trained to do. Listen or read Gladwell latest book, the cop who pulled over a black woman he focuses on didn’t target her on that day, he pulled over tens of people, daily. That’s not to say some cops don’t target blacks and the fact is the black community is over policed leading to more crimes recorded against them but it leaves the question, do you want cops to be proactive? Or not?
Some cops are biased and racist for sure but theres a hell of a lot of black criminals in some parts, what do they do to tackle them?

Oh come on. Police back each other to the hilt at all times. The head of the union has already stated he thinks the 4 should get thier jobs back. This union chap happends to be a big Trump supporter. You get the gist of what’s going on? Union chiefs hold more sway than the police commissioners.

You could be on to something there. The inherintly corrupt unions as opposed to the actual institutions may well be the root of the problems when it comes to cops getting away with behaving like animals
