Your debates would have more credibility if your first tactic when it gets heavy wasn’t to attack the intelligence of other posters.
Its very tedious.

I’ve never been in Philadelphia.
Well then any project in the states. It’s a hypothetical Mike.
… or imagine being a cop responding nightly to 911 calls, and entering a gun battle or a domestic violene scene with people who have no problem turning their guns on you.
There are places in Ireland I wouldn’t walk through.
Out of a preconceived fear for your safety?
Someone who repeatedly bases their arguments on completely incorrect facts and refuses to examine the actual facts simply isn’t very intelligent mate. Their stubborn stupidity needs to be pointed out.
That’s not all one way. As I’ve pointed out before the problem exists on both sides
But we are talking about human behavior, and why cops are the way they are in the US and why some go psycho.
Explain?
I lived near Darndale for a year or so. I never went near it. I had no reason to. It has a bad reputation. Would that stop me from going if I needed to? I don’t know.
Do you ever wonder why your colossal intellect is not better used on something more productive that posting copious amounts of drivel on an Irish GAA website from some part of the States?
If you live in a comfortable suburb in the US (or anywhere) the cops are grand, and well regarded in the community. In the worst neighborhoods, whether they are black, white or Hispanic, you see excessive police force and killings. Cops are shot at, injured or killed all the time. It’s not hard to connect the dots as to why some cops go rogue, it’s cumulative trauma, exposure to violence has a numbing effect on people.
It’s easy to judge. I would love to see @glasagusban or @mikehunt o on a 911 call in south Chicago and see how they get on.
That’s a form of prejudice without hate, in my humble opinion.
@backinatracksuit made a glib comment about running through southill (early in the morning) that’s a perfect example of this. It irked me. Almost like it was a badge of honour to do it.
He was being humorous but it was inadvertently enforcing a stereotype and he should know better
That’s a very discriminatory opinion.
It is used on something more productive, have you heard of multitasking? Anyway, you’re right, that’s enough from me for a while. Read up on the Trayvon Martin case for your homework.
I actually really enjoyed my time there. It was gas, in places like bars or BBQ joints, load of times I got asked “what’s a white guy doing here?”. Never felt it was particularly threatening or a veiled ‘youre on the wrong side of the tracks’. More I was seen as a bit of an oddity.
Though white and black populations are similar in size there, there’s very little crossover between the two from what I saw.
Other peoples prejudice. I haven’t been in it so can’t confirm if I’d feel unsafe in it or not.
but you already said there’s parts of Ireland you wouldn’t walk through. It’s just logical. Don’t be afraid to own it.
Sorry mate, I did it just to pre empt the obvious retort to that post if I hadn’t
I’m not a snob
