US Politics - A Society in Meltdown

This poor elephant was infinitely more valuable to the world than 100 Donald Trump Juniors (and Seniors) could ever be. Incidentally the elephant is the symbol of the Republican party. With any luck this picture will be a metaphor for what will happen to the Republicans at the polls for decades to come after Trump has ruined them.

Like Trump

You’ve been working in banking since you were 16?

In fairness mate, they had a good meeting at the G20 last week…both presidents seemed to get on.

I’d be very worried if Hilary had’ve been there.

Her public rhetoric re Russia was and has been extemely dangerous for world peace.

Putin has Trump over a barrel, mate.

Trump gave in to every single demand of his.

The Ruskies are running the US now.

It might have been 30 years ago.

The left’s hatred of the USA withstood the falll of the Soviet Union , in fact it hardened .

Russia ain’t controlled by lefties, mate.

Honestly mate,

Clinton with her rhetoric all through her campaign and as secretary of state under the
Obama administration would’ve caused serious geopolitical tension that we could all do without.

At least Trump for all of his obvious flaws went public in wanting to mend ties with Russia.

Go back to your Lego, mate.

Never said it was .

There was a genuine fear that Hilary would’ve sparked WWIII mate.

But so long as she says the right thing on certain issues everythings fine.

I don’t get that.

A hawk wants interest rates to rise/slow inflation. A hawkish stance is generally considered good for a currency’s strength. A dove is the opposite they want lower interest rates/higher inflation.
It’s generally central banks who are referred to as hawkish or dovish so Janet Yellen might come out with a statement that people describe as “hawkish” and the dollar would strengthen. You’d often hear nosensical sentences like “Janet Yellen struck a dovish tone in her statement today, soothing market fears that the hawks were gaining the upper hand in recent fed meetings”.
Recently the terms have gone outside traditional usage to be included in regard to monetary policy like quantitative easing; more easing dovish, less easing hawkish.

Surely it’s obvious mate. Hypothetically if you were captured on your way back from Cork after Wexford’s glorious victory and tied to a pole on Tramore beach, would you prefer to be attacked by a hawk or a dove?

I’m looking forward to @carryharry’s opinion on this,

There isn’t much of a breeze out there tonight though.

Ever the gentleman .

They should swap wives really, in fairness.

One married a generation younger , the other a generation older .

Vive Le difference !!
