I honestly think that trump and his acolytes are all hot air. Interested in personal gain, they wonât actually do anything much bar round up a few poor souls at gunpoint and ditch them somewhere south of the border live on Instagram.

Richard Boyd Barrett was saying earlier that this is scaremongering. The MNCs are making huge profits here and will continue to need a presence in the EU.

Apple still here. The general consensus on tfk was that they would all up sticks within a month if they had to pay tax. I could understand their innocence but our govt pedalling such a simplistic lie was always going to be disproved eventually.
Being the only native English speaking country in the EU would probably dissuade some from moving, especially in the tech sector

Itâs more about the Tech skills than the language skills at this stage. Plus the hassle of moving a large organisation into a greenfield from an established stable operation.

Tax is one of the many reasons theyâre here. It is not a reason why they would leave unless it significantly increased which was never a risk. People were duped into believing what they were told by FFG. Weâre lucky the EU have our backs or Paddy would have the likes of Danny Healy Rae as Minister for Environment and Michael Healy Rae as Minister for Foriegn Affairs.
