Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff walked back his earlier support for deploying federal troops to San Francisco, saying on Friday that he no longer believes such measures are needed.
“Having listened closely to my fellow San Franciscans and our local officials, and after the largest and safest Dreamforce in our history, I do not believe the National Guard is needed,” Benioff wrote on X. He added that his previous comment came “from an abundance of caution” and apologized “for the concern it caused.” Benioff emphasized collaboration, saying progress comes “when we all work together in a spirit of partnership.”
