The context is clear (you would need to watch the whole confirmation hearing). The questioning is clearly regarding inappropriate contacts between Trump supporters and Russian officials during the election campaign. Why would Franklin ask “what will you do” if he is not referencing inappropriate discussions. At no point was Sessions asked “as a member of the armed services committee did you have discussions with any Russian officials”.
This is a non story. The implication is Sessions worked with the Russians to get Trump elected. Let’s see if there is any evidence that happened. Unless of course the implication is that a member of the armed services commitee meeting with the Russian ambassador is inappropriate, which is clearly ludicrous.
As an aside meetings and discussions involving the armed services and other senate committees are classified. Why were Obama officials leaking classified information to the press?
Flynn was asked to resign as he misled the Vice President. The is no evidence Flynn had any inappropriate discussions with Russian diplomats. Lots of accusations, no evidence.
He’s the top lawman in the country. He’s spent his whole legal career negotiating his way carefully through contracts, legal arguments etc. He more than anyone else understands the importance of picking your words carefully.

I doubt it, but you never know for sure. The accusation from the Democrats is that Republicans worked with Russian officials to help Trump get elected. So far, there isn’t an iota of evidence that happened. We’ll see what the investigation unearths.
Trump will cut Sessions loose as soon as he has to. He’s an uncharismatic shit eating old timer from the Deep South. Nobody will give a monkeys if he has to go. No one is indispensable in the Trump cabinet except Trump himself. The rest are just cut and paste old rich white guys who are all mirror images of each other.

Closing loopholes and countering specific deals will involve convincing wealthy, powerful people to pay more than they already are.

Of the 20 lawmakers who responded, every senator, including Chairman John McCain (R-Ariz.), said they did not meet with the Russian ambassador last year.
