I believe I stated Robert E Lee was a figure to be commended in his role for ensuring a prolonged guerilla war wouldnât continue to ravage on but that doesnât suit what youâre attempting to bracket me into here. The Republicans realised 60 years ago that the way to win was to use rich peopleâs money to flood the zone with bullshit, from every angle, from everywhere, on every possible topic. To disinform and to divide. Weâre now coming to the climax of that strategy. The logical endpoint of that strategy is holocaust.
The information environment in which we now exist has turbo charged this dynamic. Itâs basically impossible now to have a discussion about American politics anywhere on the internet without a load of racist trolls hijacking everything. This forum is as affected by that as anywhere else.
Those racist trolls have massively impacted how American politics is covered. Even the New York Times and Washington Post etc. frame most of their coverage through language favourable to Trump, in a similar manner to how almost all western coverage Israelâs genocide is framed through language favourable to Israel.
A full on organised barrage of abuse works in influencing coverage, because it makes the media scared, and because individuals like an easy life.
