US Presidential Election 2024 - Here comes Agent Orange Elect

Shur look it, we do our best here. I even did a poll.

Yes it seems so but it’s a fairly glib response. There are extremely serious ramifications here.

What are the plus points for America as a society and for the world for it moving to being an arsewiper for Russia and China? How does this improve global stability? How does it improve stability for America? Or for the countries threatened by Russia and China? This is a serious question.

We see where enabling, appeasing a despotic power, as America has done with Israel, leads to. We saw where appeasement led in the 1930s. That support for Israel will now be massively ramped up. Though paradoxically, the lot of American Jews threatens to get a whole worse. As will the lot of other minority ethnic groups. Some of whom voted for Trump in their droves, sadly.

What a bizarre comment. Apparently “my crowd” are the Cheneys now? And the Cheneys were too “left wing”?

Do you even have a clue what you’re on about?

Trump won the popular vote too. A staggering achievement. First Republican to do so since 2004.

He has a very strong democratic mandate as per the wishes of the American people.

If this term is as peaceful as his first we’ll all be better off.

What is wrong with that quote or did you miss the word “relative”.

Didn’t even hold primaries. You’d imagine Harris would have lost those and the winner would have been in a much better place to beat Trump.

It’s embarrassing they lost to that nut.

Michelle Obama would have walked it apparently.

She probably has a long list of policies that appeal to the regular voter

Biden was losing his faculties early into his reign, it’s not his fault he trundled on to that pathetic debate performance a few years later. The fault lies with those around him - the wife, Obama x2, Pelosi, Harris - who allowed an old, frail cognitively declining pensioner limp along and humiliate himself, not allowing time for a Democratic primary to embolden the successful candidate.

She has said a few times that she isn’t interested.

Not if she had Barack going out to bat for her. He’s made a fuck of more campaigns thans he’s won.

Harris should have seriously threatened to use executive order stop arming Israel unless they stopped committing genocide immediately. At a minimum. Why? Because it would have been the right thing to do. Some of us think the punishment should be far harder. Some of us would like the entire Israeli regime put in the Hague and behind bars for the rest of their lives. I don’t support the death penalty, but you sort of waver on some people, and the current Israeli regime could have no complaints if they were to end up like the Nazis executed at Nuremberg.

However, there are some people who believe this was “a vote against genocide”. It was anything but. It was a vote to massively ramp up genocide, to set bloodlust free.

And the reality is that had Harris actually vowed to genuinely stand up to Israel, she would have lost by far more than she did. She would have been Corbyned.

These are the structural problems facing not just Democrats now in the US and elsewhere, but any politics that desires even a basic idea of human rights and freedom. Keir Starmer won because after 14 years the Tories had discredited themselves to such an extent that he could almost not fail to win. But he could have failed to win, and would have failed to win had he decided to call out Israel.

What the right wing bastards are expert at is division through disinformation. They identify wedge lines and relentlessly drive wedges to divide people.

The problem is so multi-layered and the game is so rigged in favour of the worst’s worst people that it’s almost hard to know where to begin. You can explain it, but there are no realistic avenues to combatting it.

What the Biden administration utterly failed on was bringing Trump and his cronies to justice. They should have gone after them with extreme purpose from day 1, because Trump should be behind bars, and for the rest of his life. He literally tried to overthrow democracy with a fascist coup. Never mind him being a serial rapist and career criminal. Instead the Biden administration enabled them. Big mistake.

I tapped out at 3am from tiredness.

I guess the main takeaway is that the Dems deluded themselves into thinking Americans cared more about reproductive rights than the economy.

66m is a terrible turnout after the effort they made to get out the vote.

JD Vance has four years to put in the hard graft before ascending to the throne.

Hopefully he’ll become a regular on Rogan’s podcast.

75% of Americans polled in the last few months all cited the economy

Sadly this is true; even here in Ireland people will engage more with the US election than with our own.

75% also felt that democracy was under threat in this election

And what did they say about the economy exactly? The average clown on the street knows sweet fuck all about the respective economic policies of each party.
